Jon Jones is going to run right through stipe then call out Tom Aspinall

The amount of MMA-fans who are so hell bent on betting that "Jon will NEVER in a million years fight Aspinal" is mad.

They might be right, I'm just wondering why they are claiming to be so confident.

I feel like I've seen this many times before. For example fans have been saying "Conor will never return to MMA, mark my words" since he lost to Nate Diaz, after he went to box Floyd, after he started his whiskey company, after he lost to Dustin etc... and during the Chandler matchup once again. Sure - sooner or later they'll be right, but kinda stopped listening.

Its probably going to be Aspinall vs Stipe. Jones isn't beating either.

I think it's gonna end up being an awkward post fight interview. Its in the States, right? Rogan has the balls to call him out. And if he answers anything but "yes aspinall is next" he's going to get booed into oblivion at which point Jon will smile and start talking shit to the fans.

It's cool that Jones showed every hater that he is just too good for ANY MMA fighter and that he walked straight through Stipe. But sadly he didn't call out Tom. But the trump dance was iconic AF

It's quite simple.

Jon is at the stage of his career where he doesn't need to fight a generational talent like Aspinall if he doesn't want to.

He demanded $30 million to fight Francis Ngannou, and has already said it would take 'fuck you money" to fight Aspinall. So we are probably looking at $30 mil again, if not more.

U Fight Cheap simply will not pay close to that. Even Conor can't squeeze that amount of money from them.

Jon will price himself out of this fight. In the end it doesnt matter if it's by design or if he really would fight Aspinall if they ponied up the cash.

I'm always unsure of what "generational talent" means - how many years we talking?

Can't be a human generation, like 25 years, cause I doubt people would say Aspinall already should be seen as one of the biggest talent since 1999.

Possibly.
But if I recall correctly wasn't there one or two earlier instances in Jon's career when he tried to play hardball and ask for huge amounts of money and then just settled for less? (I might have to dig through article archives to prove this)

Funny you should mention Conor as one of the reasons I doubt sherdoggers saying they're confident of something is all the people writing "Conor will NEVER return to MMA now that he went into boxing with Floyd" or "Conor will NEVER return to MMA now that he started a whisky company" - and those arguments kinda made sense, yet Conor did return.

I also sometimes try to predict stuff. It's fun. I'm just surprised that many fans seem soo darn confident in their predictions.
