Is this Really Anderson "The Spider" Silva's Boxing Record?

Dude, you're being way too dramatic. I made this thread to address the accuracy of the record with valid reasons to question it. You seem offended that I would question Boxrec. I don't take things at face value even from reputed sources when their presentation is questionable and make no apologies for it.
If you can find a source that corroborates the 1998 fight present it. If you can't move on. I'm not interested in your arguments for the plausibility of the loss or insinuations that I have ulterior motives for making this thread other than to confirm the accuracy of a fight.

No drama here, just trying to help.
One phone call and a Portuguese friend to translate was all it took.

If he couldnt make it in boxing then, what make shim think he can make it now? Besides, name me one good boxer that came out of Brazil. I cant come up with one from the top of my head. Its just not a boxing country.

no that is not anderson silva's record

anderson silva is invincible to everything but scissor sweep heel hooks

a certain Bernard hopkings was 1-1 after his first 2 fight so that means fuck all really

silva is still 1-1, while bernard hopkins is one of the top 10 best middleweights of all time. anyone can be 1-0 or 1-1. how you carry on from their, is what matters, and silva didnt bother to carry on with his career, so he doesent really matter in the world of boxing or to roy jones.

the thing is, hopkins then dedicated his life to boxing like few others. He is up there with mayweather in terms of dedication to training. Not to mention hopkins first fights were at a higher than middleweight.

I am not saying silva would do bad though.... just bad against the top 20 in the supermiddles, lightheavies, and cruisers.

what exactly does this post confirm?

all you said was that anderson silva was active in 1998

show me a source or proof of the bout

are you saying it was an amatuer bout? if so it shouldn't be counted on his pro record. boxrec lists the 2005 bout and his pro debut.

I admire your stubbornness. Honestly.

Exactly what proof will suffice?

stubbornness? what proof did he post? absolutely none

he even claimed it was an amateur bout, if that was the case it shouldn't be on his pro record

show me an article or a pic or some source that proves the bout in 1998 took place and that is was pro and not an amatuer bout. otherwise it shouldn't be on his record

I'd even say top 30-40 supermiddles, lhw's and cruisers.

An article? The newspaper barely covers the world championsips, let alone the debut of some unknown fighter who got his head caved in the first time out. I think the burden of proof lies more on the side of those saying that its fake. Boxing Rec's a bit more credible than the heavyweight forum, sorry to break it to you.
