Nah, id feel MUCH better handling it myselfI think you'd be surprised what you can get done for a pack of smokes and some cans of tuna.
Its not that hard to read your own source man
Aiello said the boy was convicted of two counts of vehicular manslaughter, two counts of evading a police officer causing death, three counts of evading an officer and causing injury, evading a peace officer while driving recklessly, evading a peace officer while driving in the opposite direction, child endangerment, vehicle theft and driving without a license.
Vehicular manslaughter is a felony.
Colorado?
AI Overview

In Colorado, vehicular manslaughter sentences vary depending on the circumstances, particularly whether the driver was under the influence of alcohol or drugs. If the driver was impaired, the crime is a Class 3 felony, punishable by 4-12 years in prison, with the potential for increased sentences under aggravating circumstances, according to Tiftickjian Law Firm. If the driver was not impaired, the crime is a Class 4 felony, with a sentencing range of 2-6 years in prison, which can also be increased,
Well, he is fifteen and obviously not in a state that doesn't give a fuck and charge minors as adults.
This is more of a legal debate, than a migrant one. Shitty ass home grown kids get away with this shit all the time too. Hell, I just watched 8 or so girls get a slap on the wrist for swarming and stabbing a dude to death in Toronto.
Is what it is, unfortunately. Personally, I'd like to bring that shit down to 13 years old across the board, for murder. I ain't in charge though, so whatever.
"reading be hard" PainIsReading
Yes, its a felony that carries at most 2-6 years for ADULTS, and its a Class 4 felony, which means you can't try minors as adults for it.It must be hard for @Rod1 since either way it is a FELONY.
Or did you forget that you said it wasn't A felony?
felony manslaughter is when you commit manslaughter while in the commission of another crime.Edit: its possible that you think "felony manslaughter" is a thing. All manslaughter charges are felonies whether they are voluntary or involuntary (ie vehicular manslaughter)

For example stealing a car then running away from the police like in the California case you posted.
Class 4 is a lighter felony than class 3.Class 4 felony in Colorado would be the California case, but simple vehicular manslaughter in Colorado is a class 3 felony - which carries 2-6 years.
Colorado allows youth to be tried as adults in Class 1 and Class 2 crimes. And there is no "you can't try kids for adult crime"; they get moved out of adult court and prison system. Its why they go to juvenile detention instead of a prison.
Has nothing to do with them being an immigrant, they just happen to be 15yo and that is as much as they can legally apply..
Sounds like more of a problem with the judicial system of that state needing to be amended..
Dude is absolutely hell bent on politicizing an incident and blaming it or associating with an idea of nationalism. In all seriousness, are you just making up rules to justify how you feel emotionally?
I'm in the law which why I know you're just throwing shit at the wall hoping something sticks, lol.
1) When kids are caught joyriding their parents car, they ask the parents if they want to press charges. If the parents say no, it is not treated as stolen. Because for the item to be stolen, the thief has to intend to deprive the owner of the item. And most kids aren't intending to deprive their parents of the family vehicle permanently.
As for "I know a case....", spare me the random anecdotes. We live in a nation of laws. There are random anecdotes for every potential story. But even then your anecdote doesn't have any jail time...so what is the point.
Class 4 is a lighter felony than class 3.
And California case was felony manslaughter because the kid was running away from the police and thus committing a shitload of felonies in the process, Colorado case was just reckless driving which is a misdemeanor, so there is no implicit mens rea unlike the California case
