Crime (ANOTHER) Illegal Indian Immigrant Truck Driver, High On Drugs, Kills 3 In US Crash

Hey. I grew into my skating years close to where you are. Huntington Beach, right? I skated Venice in the late '80's. We had launch ramps and ramps into crawling up the wall.

Skaters I was chilling with.....Christian Hosoi...Eric Dressen.....Lester Kasai.....Aaron Murray.....Natas.........such a lovely time.

I grew up in NorCal and am likely older, so I don't know them. I knew guys who came up to visit. However, once I moved down here, I got to meet and know an amazing skater, Arto Saari.... dude is super chill, but now moved to Hawaii. He recently came back into SoCal last year to sell his new book and release his VICE videos.

He didn't surf back then much, but now paddles out with us... it was great to see him in the lineup. He could have been a great surfer, too, had he chosen that path.

The issue is alcohol and drugs, not the fact he is an illegal. It actually is a disservice to those who died to try and blame him being an unqualified illegal.

that's a retarded thing to say.

Why is an undocumented person working in a highly regulated industry?

This situation circles back to a lot of discussions we have on domestic policies.

I was being sarcastic, mocking other poster(s) that actually did have that opinion in another thread (I had bumped the thread of the orginal incident and posted this story before this thread was created)

He's a super nice and grounded guy... never go into a Steam Room / Sauna with him.... you'll burn alive. Way too hot.

I don't think the point I made was clear enough -- these fuckers wouldn't kill people (or be put in positions like this) in the first place, if they weren't here illegally.

Someone literally argued "yeah... but illegals have proven to be among the safest of drivers" -- or something to that extent, which is fuckin' absurd.

They shouldn't be a STATISTIC of DRIVING or RECORDS -- since they... well, shouldn't fuckin' be in the country driving... ANYTHING... They was literally committing a crime BEFORE getting behind the wheel of ... ANYTHING... Make sense of that shit.

Dont disagree with any of that. Similar to when people try to argue that migrants commit less crime than natural born citizens.

Despite those state being very narrow. The argument also tries to negate of social impacts like driving down wages, taking up jobs and housing, soaking up public benefits, etc.

These people are still committing horrific crimes and shouldn’t even be here to begin with.

Welp -- we just will get branded as racist phobes and haters -- but facts be facts. If illegal people weren't here to commit the crimes that are committed -- then well, those crimes wouldn't fuckin' exist. It's a radical concept for people to wrap their heads around, it seems.

The very fact they are here, be very existence, being a crime -- not enough to convince people a crime has happened.

Why not hand 'em a special CA license or a CDL, eh?

It's fuckin' nuts -- not one person here can explain to me why illegal crimes by illegals needs to be reported if they wasn't here in the first place -- committing a crime by just being here. Somehow the logic just doesn't work.

No the real issue is these companies and corporations bringing these people in and destroying what was once a very healthy career field. But I bet you’re against regulating these companies that are doing this shit.

A once healthy career field. With decent pay, it didn't require college, and there were entry level positions that you could build a career from. It was a better paying equivalent to being a waiter or waitress.

There’s been a long series of corruption government and otherwise that’s turned it into a parasitic industry. People can get outraged about the immigrant crashing the truck, but it wouldn’t happen if we paid regular Americans what they deserve to do it. It’s not just the pay either- companies to shady shut to get out of giving them their basic workers rights.

Look at the damage California did to the industry through emissions regulations. The cost for an owner operator is impossible to afford, now only large fleet operators can afford to run freight and we see what they hire, and how they drive
