I'm bouncing between both threads heh, but the response to Newsom and futher posts across the other thread explain it -- I did just ask for a merger, cause the underlying problems are systemic -- regardless of just immigration, or state, or CDL issuance -- there's a massive, MASSIVE series of red flags that all tie in toegether top to bottom.

Looks like two parties are saying things that contradict each other.

You'd think it would be simple to prove who's right.

Seems like the overwhelming comments from Californians say California is wrong.

My point is that the people who hand out CDL's should be tougher on all these stupid ass truck drivers.

Being immigrant doesn't have much to do with somebody getting stuck doing a U-turn like the one photo.

So many truckers are straight up methamphetamine junkies just trying to stay awake while they're driving down the road.

In the report, they say Oklahoma officials say that NY may issue fraudulent CDLs, but one they cross state lines, they will enforce the law.

That circles back tho, if NY is complicit in issuing licenses to obvious frauds that aren’t qualified, then NY state should be able to be sued if these drivers kill a family like this

My brother in law got his CDL. He had to go to a school and it cost 50,000 dollars. It was a fairly big deal. How the hell can non English speakers get licensed?

CDL's can be obtained at most community colleges for about $1K-2K depending on where you're located.

This is wrong. There's a lot of black drivers here in Houston. Pretty spread out between white, black and Hispanic. It's a good way to make a living if you hate being the office or field worker. You can earn a great living on the road if you eventually own your own truck.
