Yeah, nothing against him and he might well be the most dangerous challenger, but he needs to prove himself one more time because Sean Brady is his only big win (Burns doesn't count as a big win at this stage)

He's mildly annoying most of the time, but I've been able to dismiss it as him being boisterous to sell a fight.

But fighting a dude who was already injured, losing to him, and then bragging about how you used a technique many people consider borderline dirty to sideline him with career-altering injuries after the fact is pretty fucked up. I personally am not part of the "ban oblique kicks/knee stomps" crowd, but Ian knows what he is doing with the optics here.

IMHO Islam knows he has to eventually fight Garry AND Morales, or Brady, or whoever is on top by then. With Shavkat out, he needs his title run at 170 to be undeniable.

He is arguably the best LW ever, but his defenses should’ve been better. Not his fault Charles got hurt, Justin got KTFO and whatever happened to Arman.
Khabib won his belt in anticlimactic fashion but then faced the three guys in line and Justin made the Tony fight worthless in retrospective.

That said: for his very next fight, Islam, Team Eagle and Ali will try to get the path of less resistance to the 17th win in a row (absolute record) AND the best scalp of his resume along Charles. Usman, that is.

Highly doubt UFC is gonna put Islam vs Garry, but the rankings say he's next after JDM? If I had to bet it's Usman/Islam and Morales/Garry for next title shot. We'll see. If they don't try to milk Usman one last time, I'd think Morales is more prestigious than Garry for Islam's record.
