**** How do you like your steak? ****

I'm changing my preference from well done with ketchup:

To Chinese pepper steak:

Rare or medium rare.

A guy asking for a steak well done is like a guy asking for a white wine & soda.

Medium or rare. Anything more and the pics of meat turns into an estrogen filled tampon.

Medium or medium-rare

In the TS pic the medium rare is typically how my medium ends up looking, or at least pretty close to it. That's pretty much how I like it. I don't think I actually ever ordered rare before

Medium rare.

Medium rare, and if you have Ketchup on a steak you deserve a slap

Medium rare for me.

I was at a steakhouse in Hawaii and the women at the table next to us ordered the fillet medium rare but asked the server for HP sauce. The server suggested to her to try it without the sauce first. She did and she ended up thanking the server for the suggestion

why is salt and pepper acceptable

Most food needs to be seasoned to make it taste better. Although I would happily eat a steak without seasoning.
I've never understood why it's deemed bad to add salt and pepper to food at posh restaurants or dinner parties.

Putting anything on steak other than salt & pepper just means you don't actually like steak.
No, that just means your cooking methods are limited.

Butter, Garlic, and Fresh Herbs disagree...
