Opinion Hegseth to U.S. generals: "Prepare for war."

Trump specifically identified the Democratic Party as “an enemy within” while speaking to assembled generals.

Not a great look.

Should trump lie about the state of the democratic party to spare your feelings?

The MAGA purge of politically "unreliable" officers who are more loyal to the constitution than to Trump has begun right on schedule.

Trump needs officers who won't tell him to pound sand when he orders them to open fire on the protesters who will pour into the streets after he seizes the ballots and voting machine in districts where Democrats win in the mid-terms.

As the election nears, Trump and MAGA will increase their rhetoric about rigged elections and mail in ballots to a near frenzy level.

In places where it seems likely Democrats will prevail (especially in red states where Trump can count of the support of the state government) Trump will order the FBI to seize ballots and voting machines, preventing a Democrat victory.

Republicans in congress will play along, argue that Trump's actions are legal, rational and consistent with the democratic process and that we all need to be calm and patient while the "legal process" plays out.

At the same time, Johnson will refuse to swear in newly elected Democrats until "we can figure out what's going on" and thus retain control of congress.

Democrats will pour into the streets in protest and Trump will send in the military to "keep order".

Trump's newly minted MAGA officers will comply.

Eventually some MAGA somewhere will open fire on the crowds and kill protesters as a warning to others who might feel the urge to protest that they'd best stay home.

Presto... MAGA remains in full control of government even though they lost the election.

I bet you were breathing heavily typing this.

"Then the...the big fascists...they...they will strip us! And hold us down! With their strong arms!"

Reminds me of a common complain I hear about football coaches. The coaches expect players to be fit and well cut, ready to wage war against their opponet. Yet all to often these days coaches have big obese bellies. It isn't a good look.

I think it’s a very apt comparison.

If you are constantly dreaming up gay fantasies where there is no provocation of such, your post above says more about you than it does me.

Now I know why several Republican National Conventions, along with Charlie Kirk's memorial service, all crashed Grindr in those locations.

Dude, Hegseth is a trainwreck. McNamara was an accomplished man before he became the SOD. It's laughable that you even tried that comparison. And who is sliding goalposts to make Hegseth look bad? He does that all by himself. He's a walking cringe fest along with being a certified alcoholic that pays off women he sexually assaults.
Dude, look at you defending Robert McNamara over Pete Hegseth just to argue that “ol’ get-tens-of-thousands-of-Americans-killed-in-a-war-he-knew-wasn’t-winnable” was somehow more qualified. Yeah, his experience crunching numbers at Ford really paid off.

If you don’t like Pete, that’s totally fine — but calling him “underqualified” means nothing when “qualified” guys like Lloyd Austin absolutely torched the Afghan pullout. All that institutional experience sure delivered, huh?

Honestly, one could argue that a defense policy shaped by someone with real-world, ground-level experience — like the current SecDef might be more grounded than one built by a disconnected Ford executive who tried to run a war with spreadsheets, or a four-star general who managed troops from an ops center and earned a Silver Star for getting close to the front lines once.

He should serve the role of every other president in US history and not that of a rapist/felon/Epstein cohort

“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people — does not even pretend to try." - James Mattis Secretary of Defence under Trump

“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us,” Mattis writes. “We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children.”

Imagine thinking war is or should be fought with general's on the front like this is 200 BC. lmao

McNamara was a very good strategist and understood the importance of logistics

All Hegseth understands is how to make his boss happy and deliver TED Talks to generals
