It doesn't matter WHAT reactions or comments you get, it just matters that you get any. And that's on top of corporate curating. Controlling media in such a matter is a core tenet of fascism.

There IS a more widespread effect of negative comments actually being read by people and perhaps shifting things, but the overall reach is driven purely by attention.

Also Google's AI unequivocally describes the laugh emoji as a positive engagement. It doesnt account for it being used as ridicule.

Trump is electable because despite his vilness, he is what the average american male aspires to be. He "made it" in their eyes (even though he was born into it) which to them entitles him to act like that and treat others as peons to be used so they can get behind him, even if not realizing they are the peons being used for the most part.

Of course its all carefully orchestrated with a mass of money behind it as much as his powder puff tan is but he is really a merging of that 'rich better than you' stereotype with the Stone Cold vibe in how he acts which is what makes his character popular with the fan base.
