Along with the Major from the National Guard who's a DUI hire and whose own mom says he abuses women.

I mean that is the game you chose to play when you sign up, and renlist multiple time, and promote, and put on stars..

Senior enlisted or senior officer you always gotta answer to someone with potentially less...credentials.

Sure, but this is an extreme example, no? It's egregious mockery and it needs to be pointed out.

I think there are other examples of less-than-highly qualified Secretary of Defense. Several never served in the military at all, while others served for a limited time.

Not going out of a limb to say Sec Hagseth has a great resume, but the generals have to listen to completely ignorant politicians routinely. Some of the questions posed to Generals during required testimony to Congress are really bizarre.

I'd like to see those examples.

Use google…Robert McNamara was a business man who served for 2-years in the air force, he went on to serve as one of the longest sec defs.
Brother, we must not have met. Don't make a claim and tell me to "use Google". And you've got a lot of nerve putting up McNamara as a comparison the Hegseth. I didn't like McNamara's politics, but he was a much more accomplished person than Kegsbreath.

So what you're saying is an email would have sufficed.
I mean , that's not what team building is about if you've ever had a job you would know.

Lots of meetings could be emails. Heck our yearly safety meeting could be a video we watched on our own time. Yet the bosses choose to bring everybody in. Bring in food and drinks and pay us all to be there . Some things hit differently and have different objectives outside of the raw message.

The guy worked for Ford after two solid years of crunching numbers and deferring joining during WW2, I got it, you'll slide the goal posts wherever to make Pete look like shit. So, reject my example and move on. I'm not trying to change your mind; I'm aware of how War Room heroes operate.

Dude, Hegseth is a trainwreck. McNamara was an accomplished man before he became the SOD. It's laughable that you even tried that comparison. And who is sliding goalposts to make Hegseth look bad? He does that all by himself. He's a walking cringe fest along with being a certified alcoholic that pays off women he sexually assaults.

The MAGA purge of politically "unreliable" officers who are more loyal to the constitution than to Trump has begun right on schedule.

Trump needs officers who won't tell him to pound sand when he orders them to open fire on the protesters who will pour into the streets after he seizes the ballots and voting machine in districts where Democrats win in the mid-terms.

As the election nears, Trump and MAGA will increase their rhetoric about rigged elections and mail in ballots to a near frenzy level.

In places where it seems likely Democrats will prevail (especially in red states where Trump can count of the support of the state government) Trump will order the FBI to seize ballots and voting machines, preventing a Democrat victory.

Republicans in congress will play along, argue that Trump's actions are legal, rational and consistent with the democratic process and that we all need to be calm and patient while the "legal process" plays out.

At the same time, Johnson will refuse to swear in newly elected Democrats until "we can figure out what's going on" and thus retain control of congress.

Democrats will pour into the streets in protest and Trump will send in the military to "keep order".

Trump's newly minted MAGA officers will comply.

Eventually some MAGA somewhere will open fire on the crowds and kill protesters as a warning to others who might feel the urge to protest that they'd best stay home.

Presto... MAGA remains in full control of government even though they lost the election.

While everyone is talking about how "unqualified" Pete is I will casually mention my personal distaste for the Sec of the Army whom I worked for.

A self described "civil servant" she was a beauracrat. With ZERO military experience. ZERO. A common theme with Democrat presidents is getting these DEI hires in place above the literal THOUSAND more qualified candidates. But Biden wanted to have the first female SEC DEF the same way Obama wanted to have the first openly gay one.

I'll give Ole Pete a wide lane and here's why: His character flaws including allegations ofsexual misconduct, financial mismanagement, and excessive drinking, EMBODY ABOUT 80% OF THE PEOPLE I SERVED WITH. He is no Saint or intellectual powerhouse but he DEFINATELY a speaks to Soldiers and knows them.

This is a marked improvement over the previous fuckhead. At best that guy was a DEI hire who propagated DEI practices. His entire biography opens with "first black this and that". Look at his fucking career and recognize the damage he did: CENTCOM cdr who propagated the lie we were winning in the middle east. As SECDEF he enforced the draconian COVID measures that cut 8k service members against all recommendations, he managed to fuck up the Afghan withdrawal epically, his medical AWOL bullshit, and of course got rich off the MIC connections. You can point directly at this guy as the reason so many generational veterans do not want their kids serving in the military.

So like I said, we'll give Ole Pete a chance.

The people who call Pete "unqualified" are the same people who call RFK "Unqualified" and a danger to public health due to it, while being gleefully ignorant that his predecessor in the Biden Administration was a fucking lawyer with no experience in the field of health and medicine.

I'm really starting to wonder why you guys hate Alex Jones so much. You may as well be on his writing staff with kooky CT's like this.

Up until the point it violates their oath. To compare Hagseth's plans with nonsensical military operations is dishonest.
