Gonna go ahead and post a picture of myself and my business card.

I mean the female sups are brain dead.

Barefoot shoes I do not know, I didn't try them. Can you explain the science of barefoot shoes for deadlifts ?

Why are amino acids fake ? Your body absorbs them for muscle synthesis ?
Female supplements make more sense. They usually contain more folate, iron and calcium. Women have their period and they need more folate and iron. Folate also have other uses in pregnant women. Women also are at higher risk for osteoporosis than men. They are smaller and have less muscle. Hormonal changes also contribute to that risk.

I think other posters were trying to hint to you that the amino acids are a waste of money. You are already eating enough meat. You don’t need extra amino acids. Let me put it in Dota terms. You are using Riki and buying shadowblade when you are buying those amino acids.

You use different shoes for different lifts. Depending on your anatomy or squat stance then you might benefit from a higher heel or a flat shoe. Barefoot shoes are flat shoes but they have a super wide toebox. There is no cushion in the sole so you feel very grounded. You can also use converses or skater shoes with very little cushion but they aren't wide. The converses are about an inch off the ground so you need to work to overcome that inch. Wrestling or boxing shoes work too. You want something flat with a lot of grip to the ground. Your tennis shoes are squishy and have too much cushion. They will compress unevenly under heavy load. You can't move heavy weight with those shoes. It's a stability or range of motion issue. Just think about it. You want to squat/deadlift on a flat stable surface or a foamy surface that compresses. There are people who use elevated heel shoes to squat but it's very solid and doesn't compress. Those shoes aren't good for deadlifting.

The riki shadow blade analogy was very nice.

How much do you deadlift ?

The female sups were actually protein stuff

Post the female supps stuff. I swear they are regarded if they market it as plain protein for females.

Same thing. I been stuck at mid 400s for a very long time now. I haven't tried to increase it and I am pretty sure I am getting weaker every year now since I use a belt and straps now. I just lift more efficient now and I don't do sketchy stuff like trying to PR every session. I use a sumo stance now and I don't even squat or deadlift every week. I pulled 225 for fun with one hand the other day when I was doing rows.

I honestly don't really care about strength anymore. I am lifting for quite a long time now and honestly only guys approach me when I lift something heavy. It's usually the older guy who tells me he used to bench a million lbs in high school and he can’t squat because his bad knee. I am never mean to that dude because I am probably going to become like that in the future. I am just fighting nature by using lifting gear and shoes. I see the young kids in the gym just show up and bench 110 dumbbells with no warmup. I know I am washed up.

This forum kinda messed me up many years ago. I was convinced I can only squat, bench and deadlift then drink a gallon of milk along with some hydrolyzed whey protein.

I don't remeber when I saw it, long time ago, it was just an example. It's not the norm, I just saw it once. Just used it for a comparison.

You are a female who deadlifts 350 pounds ? Ok you can give out advice on lifting shoes I believe ya. You are very strong.

I know exactly what you mean. Rippetoe gomad early mid 2000ies. I tried it, powerlifting and the stickied advice of eat everything in sight, 15 years later I still haven't lost the weight. Gained 30 pounds. Really douchey guys in mid 2000. Super douchie and snobish guys on the forum. Giving bad powerlifting advice on an mma forum. Getting fat and stronger is bad for a fight forum, it could be good for powerlifting.

And yeah the whole free weights everything else is trash. Just bp sqt dl. Some really douchey fat powerlifters in the dieting and s&c forum. They would gank up and ridicule anyone who said different things. They weren't even fighters, like gtfo of my mma forum fat strong guys.

And than there were some years they swore by paleo and you can not eat rice. Also a crazy fad. Like eat lard meat eggs and some veggies.

They were strength nazzis on a combat sport forum. Out of place but bullying people.

I have used squat shoes for years just out of preference, but still haven't used a belt.

I just did a run of Sumo and hit a Sumo PR. That lift has grown on me. My sumo stance is very narrow though. I basically just have my legs outside my hands and my hands are narrow enough that part of my hand is inside the knurling to accommodate it. I like them because it actually seems to mimic the lifting position I use when I lift things like sandbags or heavy weight off the ground.

The super wide sumo stance seems silly to me. I have seen enough videos of people dropping weight on their feet or coming close to shorten their range by an inch.

Get into hybrid training and start running long distances. That way you can just say you are maintaining strength whilst you build to a slow half/marathon and have an inbuilt excuse. It used to just be called strength and conditioning, but I guess someone had to monetize the ability to run and lift kinda well into it;s own thing. The best part is you can just do Maffetone style run training and chill with some music or a podcast.

What is whey isolate ? Whey that has 3 g less carbs and fat ?

Total bullshit. You save 25 calories ? But price is 30% more ?

What is wrong with 2 g more butter in your whey.

You gotta have 20 less calories in your shake but 800 in your cheat meal. And drink pure sugar intra and post workout.

If I got those shoes. Would I stop lifting my heels when squatting ? I squat on my toes. Like high kicking.

Those people are doing splits with the bar. They are really optimizing the lift. It's like the crazy bench arch or japanese bench grip.

This guy's lift is crazy. He has to pull his feet back or it will get smashed.

Isolate is just whey that might make you less gassy or bloated. It has less fats and carbs along with it. They can also make fruity flavors with it instead of rich flavors like chocolate, vanilla and etc etc.

Ah so it's about the whole dairy tolerance and not about having 15 clories less. I got a great dairy tolerance and drink a bottle off milk or something in that ballpark of dairy a day. I can drink 1 l milk in 10 minutes and not get bloated.

You just need to consistently practice your squat. You would be better off wearing a pair of flatter shoes and developing your technique before using the shoes.

You squat on your toes because you haven't practiced the movement and lack the mobility.

That's why these beginner programs have you doing the same movements all the time and recommend squatting benching and deadlifting and doing it at sub max weights. You develop technique in these movements, get stronger, see improvements AND then around that 3-6 or even 12 month mark have developed the foundation to do other stuff.

You don't need a magical pair of shoes. I bought mine for Girevoy Sport back in the day, which was a requirement to compete. I use them for squatting because I own them. I could also squat in the same barefoot style shoes I train in which can be picked up for 20-30AUD or the equivalent of $15 USD.

I wonder what I could lift if I used that technique.

Mine has my arms touching my legs as I drop into a squat style position and pull up.

My conventional deadlift is more of a clean style starting position also.

Just step on a plate if you really don't want to use those shoes.
I see people do that. Lifting on my toes shouldn't be wrong either ? I just felt like I'm cheating and it doesn't fully count

You shouldn’t. Too much weight on the front toes puts a lot of stress on your knees. It might cause an injury with heavier weights.

You can of course work to up to it if your knees/quads are strong/flexible enough.
You can look at someone like Tom Platz. I can’t do stuff like that without injury

Because amino acids are what proteins are made of. And if you're already eating protein... What's the point?

Quantitiy ?

What's the point in eating chicken for dinner if you had eggs for breakfast ?

Isolate is better if you’re lactose intolerant, hence the gassy bloated stuff. That’s the main reason to get it (because it’s low lactose). Which like with other low lactose / no lactose products you shave some calories off and get more protein per gram.
