Alright, I'll go ahead and get this off my chest. (Serious)

I am watching Mike Israetel videos right now.
This may be the most detrimental thing you are currently doing as you work toards any kind of personal goals. A few years back he was a decent source of information as long as you could handle the cornball humour. He says a lot of things now that are just plain stupid, there is the occasional nugget in there but the training advice is just terrible as a whole. So much nonsense. And he has become very weird overall as well doing some crazy surgical shit, I'm not giving much detail here because I can't watch anymore.

I want to like the guy and I will often give it a shot when it pops up on my feed but inevitably I bail cause he starts with the crazy talk.

Oh damn.

I mean... What crazy stuff has he said? I watched a diet advice video he made where he simply said fasting is not that good because you need protein throughout the day. lol. That sounds good advice man.

If I could do it again, I wouldn't waste $thousands on barbells, racks and plates. Could have did it all better & cheaper with sandbags and pull up bar
100% this. The best periods of my training involved Sandbags, kettlebells, weightvests and rings.

I use free weights now, but I kinda just want to train full time with those implements. The Issue I have currently is I train in a work gym mostly and don't have access to them.

getting into the awkward shifting weight of bags and stabilizing needed on rings made barbell lifts go up. like you mentioned , put a few KBs in and you have 1000 workouts to try. harder to do in a quiet / low energy office gym

could roll into an entire discussion on training bags, heavy bags, Bulgarian bags. the cleans, carries, shouldering, squatting, bear hugs, suplex, throws, floor presses, and grapple rolling , press & slam, kang squats, vertical & horizontal extensions

quite versatile for the cost

Yea i already ordered one to try out a bit , probably bit too light but what the hell

Its a tool , so it'll be in what you're using it for.

Training bags will be useful at lighter weights due to handles all over.

Heavy/ carry bags are
Starter size - just under body weight
Working size - body weight
Power building size - over body weight

Sand weight is not barbell weight

twas already my opinion but just 10days ago this guy posted which prompted me to ask for his thoughts, his answer was a good part of it. https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/mike-israetel-sage-or-egomaniac.4335310/post-175735354
That whole thread might be good, I can't really remember.
Either way your comment and my reply here were well timed with world events, today my feed was full of stuff like what is in post 307 in that thread. I've not really watched this vid only about the first 15 mins just now but it appears to mostly be about his incompetence. The weirdness I mentioned includes some body mod surgery and discussion at pursuing even more drastic/odd surgeries in the future, shit like removing ribs or a mesh corset for waist reduction. I may be off on the details, as I mentioned I bail when he gets weird.

Edit- just took a quick look at the last 2 pages of that thread, I should have just sent you there instead of typing what I did, it looks pretty bad.

I am lucky man. The gym I am referring to isn't an office low energy office gym, but is mostly set up for Oly/Powerlifting and has pretty good access to equipment.

Not as good as yours but the current place is pretty close.

I miss training in my backyard though with my odd objects.

That's right...all you need are set's of fahve's.
