Francis Ngannou calls out Jon Jones after ‘duck’ comments

now he's trying to go back and fight a guy that belongs to a company he said ripped him off and never treated him right?

This seems to be flying over your head.

Ngannou's promotional contract with PFL affords him the flexibility to box, or even co-promote. He advocated for himself and won a contract that lets him do what ALL fighters should have the right to do.

Ngannou and his promoter openly calling for this fight is wise - its good for all parties but the UFC, who have draconian promotional contracts. This is both good for Ngannou, Jones and the sport.

Why the ufc would co promote a rival org on the brink of bankruptcy

It does not really matter because Saudi Arabian Royalty and billionaire Turki Alalsheikh could broker the fight.

It looks like Saudi Arabia wants to put on jones vs Ngannou. That is millions of dollars. Dana has never said no to Saudi Arabia, even when they asked him to hold a mans hand.

Fuck Aspinall, if they can make that fight, they should. I like this push from Ngannou and the PFL to call out jones, and let Saudi Arabia broker the fight and pay everyone millions.

No, not "fuck Aspinall". Are you an actual fight fan or not? If they wanna co-promote Jones/Gane fine, but do it with it in writing that the winner fights Aspinall. Or switch the order around, whatever. You have 3 guys with a legit claim as being the best HW on the planet. Do 2 fights and figure it out. Is that plausible? Not sure, but as fans it's what we SHOULD want.

apparently what's flying over YOUR head is that it's good for all parties BUT THE UFC. that's a pretty big fucking roadblock, especially when the President of the UFC has publicly said he'll never do business with Ngannou and has actively tried to erase him from MMA history.

Ngannou’s PFL contract only allows him to fight MMA for PFL. Like every other promotion.

Nice try shill.

The only reason Jones even finally moved up to Heavyweight was because Francis was no longer there. He would accept the Tom fight in a heartbeat if it meant ducking Francis.

Doesn't seem like it so far. Purely from a fight standpoint seems like the 38 year old with bad knees would be the guy to feel better about beating than 31 year old (who granted did blow out a knee himself) who's just entering his prime.

I have no problem with that, Aspinall can also get paid and make money. I like Aspinall as well.

These people hate the UFC. Only explanation for their idiotic takes.

The entire Bellator roster has been put on ice by PFL since February and you’ve still got people saying they’ll do something even more expensive like trying to make Jones/Ngannou even if the UFC did allow that.

Just laughable

You're still here?

I thought you would have killed yourself, after so many "Tony Freguson = GOAT (mal-) predictions <lmao> <lol>

Did you read the article?

PFL boss is specifically calling for the fight to be made, co-promoting with SA benefactors. At least do the bare minimum before posting.

What? In his prime Tony was amazing and only morons think otherwise. Obviously he fell off a cliff.

Kill myself? Bro...I don't even know who TF you are but if it even enters your mind that this shit is that serious you probably should disengage for awhile. Damn.

That is a terrible excuse. Ngannou was a complete newb in boxing. There is no valid excuse he had for that performance. Being "fat" shouldn't make that big a difference between a pro boxing newb and the HW champ.

Imagine if ngannou had a few extra years training. Fury would have absolutely lost to Frank
It's not an excuse but an explanation, and it's the "couch potato" part that matters more than the "fat" part. Against Ngannou, Tyson Fury moved and boxed like a man who wasn't aware of what his body could and couldn't do. He wasn't just out of shape; he clearly hadn't practiced at all boxing while in anything like the condition he was in. He was trying to will his body to do things he'd always been able to do and failing. Then he was knocked down and panicked, getting stuck in survival mode. He was able to survive because Ngannou is barely an amateur boxer, but any top 100 cruiserweight in the world would have wrecked Fury that night.

No, that is exactly what I said, you are just repeating it back.

I'm responding to your asinine "why would Ngannou call for this now?" which is so obvious it shouldn't need to be typed out.

I hope UFC can bring Ngannou back and pick up Nemkov too. Suddenly the HW division will be stacked.

Jones
Tom
Ngannou
Nemkov
Volkov
Gane

And Poatan potentially moving up.

Would be awesome.
Stacked is an exageration. Adequate is more like it.

Why the ufc would co promote a rival org on the brink of bankruptcy

I take your point - the UFC is about to pay nearly half a billion dollars to settle a class action lawsuit.

Suffice to say they want to purchase the ability to operate with draconian contracts that misclassify fighters as contractors while imposing the requirements of employees.

It will take public pressure, like Ngannou is wisely applying here, to change the paradigm for his fellow fighters. Competition is a good thing. Co-promoting is a good thing, as fighters get more opportunity and fans get better value for their purchasing power.

Oh Francis won that fight. Fat boy cheated, got knocked down, couldn't do a damn thing in the rounds he "won". No excuse. Ngannou had/has 0 wins. 0.

Big shock dude tries to come crawling back to the UFC after everyone who's dealt with him since leaving the UFC have lost piles of money. Obviously PFL want it to dampen the 8 figure loss they ate from Francis' last event. They offered him the same $8 million he turned down for a Jones fight, and quickly realized he isn't a draw and selling 10,000 PPVs isn't even close to covering what they offered him. UFC already have Tom as the most interesting next HW fight, and there is 0 reason for them to bypass their own interim champ again so they can sign a guy pushing 40 who just got completely shut down and shadow realm'd 8 months ago or "co-promote" to rescue a rival org on the verge of bankruptcy.

Sorry, but Jon vs Tom is the next fight for the HW title, and PFL is stuck with one of the most hilariously stupid business decisions of all time, and just learned a hard lesson on why offering millions and all that "freedom" is sending their company straight into bankkruptcy.

it's true that jones ducked ngannou shamelessly, but its cringe to keep calling for fights that will never happen

ur out of the ufc big frank, forget about jon and tom
