Yeah I think people are voting more now than ever , but it is still crazy to think about 90 million people stayed home .

Most people are busy working and when they go home they just eat and watch shit on TV. It's not an excuse, it's just reality. Most people won't care unless they are personally affected. It's why people came out in record number during the pandemic. It's why the Chinese finally protested when they were locked down in their apartments. In fact, I once thought the Chinese were very passive for taking so much abuse but it turns out a lot of Americans probably wouldn't even give a shit if democracy was gone and we were led by a dictator instead as long as they got some entertainment and could still go to work. I guess people aren't that different.

Elon is especially motivated since every dollar cut in spending will translate into a dollar towards billionaire tax cuts.

Everything has to go except any contracts or subsidies that benefit Tesla or Space X. They are 100% essential.

It'd be interesting to see everyone's reaction when it's all said and done how many departments are left and how much of the deficit will be be cut.

If they are doing tax cuts along without changes to defense spending, social security, Medicaid, and Medicare then the deficit ain't going down anytime soon.

• numerous redundant programs / systems
• weapon systems the military just doesn't want, but are being forced to take, keep, maintain, etc. for political purposes
• foreign bases - ally countries should be spending more on their defense so we can bring our people, assets, and the spend behind the home
• nuclear arsenal management and spend - Trump is already negotiating for a de-escalation of nuclear arsenals. Does the man sleep?

There are also huge spends and delays due to terrible Project Controls for ship, plane, and equipment maintenance, upgrades, and new builds.
