Cyril Gane finishes Tom Aspinal

(I cheated. I've already done the first fight, so I copy+pasted it)

The world needs smartassess, or else we get overrun by dumbasses (eg: TS)

it'll be interesting. Aspinall banks on early KOs. Gane has never been knocked out and took Ngannou's shots for 5 rounds.

i think tom starts grappling early and goes for the sub or gnp. this is the most likely scenario

if gane can stop it and keep it standing, he wins a decision

Is he? what are you basing this on?
A feeling he gets in his little wee wee. Don't question it.
According to UFC stats, Tom has been hit on 57 out of 157 strikes attempted on him, 36.3%

Funnily enough, Gane has absorbed 496 out of 1130 strikes attempted, so Gane was hit at a higher percent: 43.9%

If Tom's hittable, what's that make Gane?

*edit*
Despite only having 3 more fights, the reason Gane has over 7 times the strikes attempted on him is because Tom keeps finishing his matches so quick that he only has a little over 13 minutes in the UFC cage. Gane has had 170 minutes of people trying to hit him. Which makes for poor evidence of TS's claim of Gane finishing or hurting Tom early.

If Tommy Boy takes more than 1 minute to KO Gane, I’d call it an underperformance. If Gane actually finishes Tom, then Tom should retire and publicly apologize to Jon Jones. Also, the Jones haters will be on suicide watch.
Why would Jon Jones haters be on suicide watch?
For watching Jon Jones duck a guy like the plague who it turns out was never any good?
You Bones boys really need to take a Logics class or something.

Aspinall is faster and hits harder. Gane has better footwork and is more defensively sound. Speed and power often overcome technical deficiencies. Especially at HW because when Aspinall has landed, essentially everyone he's hit has dropped like a sack of bricks and been finished shortly thereafter.

Yeah because they had no answer to a simple 1-2 which was the only thing Aspinal does. That's how good they were.

I'd like to think Gane can handle a little more than a good 1-2. Won't matter if TA decides to grapple though.

Gane is a guy youre not going to ko in one round. The thing with Aspinall is his one win after round 1 is arlovski. Who was way past it but isn’t as stuck in tye mud as all the other hw Aspinall fought.
If you’ve seen Aspinall grappling indont know how he’s a black belt as he’s a turtle off his back

A hw that wins all his fugvts in a round and is 1-2 after a round you could say theres going to be a pattern with that.

If you think that's all he throws, you should probably go back and watch again. It's definitely his most common combo in the pocket but he throws it far faster than HW's are ever used to seeing. And he adjusts based on what's there. For example vs Pavlovich it was a short combo in the pocket. Against Blaydes the jab was short but the second punch is a much longer overhand because of where they were positioned. He dropped Spivac with a short elbow.

Only if his wrestling is significantly improved

Aspinal is not winning this fight on feet and i doubt he even tries to take Cyril Gane donwn. When Aspinal realizes hes going to get knocked out he will try to change his game plan but its too late. I think Gane finishes him inside 2 rounds. Aspinal is guy who gets hit a lot. Curtis Blaydes hit him few times in both fights and Pavlovich cracked him too. Gane wins this fight and then he loses to Pereira.
*IF* he does.... and Jon Jones finished GANE-----does this mean that Jones absorbs Gane's win against Tom??? Like Tsang Tsung or something???

I rewatched some of his fights lately. I'm not even kidding that the 1-2 is what he throws almost 9 out of 10 times of his attacks. Even if he mixes it up, it is still started with a 1-2.

He's a good HW but this is a very weak HW era. The HW's today are bad grapplers but also bad strikers. Isn't that crazy? I've seen HW era's where they were good strikers and bad grapplers, and also other era's where they were good grapplers and bad strikers. But this is the first time since the 90s where the HW's are both bad strikers and bad grapplers. Other than Tom. No surprise he is the better one.

Sure HW is fairly weak but that's a bit overblown too. And let's not pretend Aspinall is winning but squeaking by or surviving wars with these guys. He's wrecking everyone inside a couple minutes.

I think people forget Gane was lighting up Ngannou and turned him into a panic wrestler. Gane is definitely a serious threat on the feet. Aspinal can win if he's willing to take chances and make it dirty, but this idea that he's some masterclass boxer is hard for me to grasp.

Lol, for this exact reason. Jones haters are the champions of mental gymnastics. They spent a year using the lack of a Tom fight as a way to discredit the goat. If Tom loses to Gane, who Jones submitted with ridiculous ease, it proves Jon’s point that the Tom fight just wasn’t an interesting or deserved matchup. Jones haters will attempt to use your excuse of “lol jon jones ducked aspinall even though Tom sucks!!!” But in reality they will be on suicide watch.

Ngannou with a bad knee who relies on torque and power for his striking. Gane landed like 60 ss over 5 rounds, the highest in any round was 19. "Lighting him up" is a bit of exaggeration.

Gane is obviously a good striker. He lacks power compared to most elite HW strikers but has put some guys away standing. I think the narrative that he's some insane puzzle to figure out is pretty overblown. Tuivasa sent him crashing into the bottom of the cage stiff as a board, Gane luckily for him woke up as he hit the ground and got his composure back quickly. If Tai can land like that, pretty easy to see Tom doing it but closing the deal.
