That absolutely positively sucks.
Gane should have lost that fight, lost part of his salary, and looked at a one year ban.
I could handle boxing and breaking a nose. But I'll pass on a sport where you don't even get a point penalty for someone gouging both of your corneas out.
So keep your fingernails long and rake your opponents eyes a few times a fight. Best case scenario they go blind and you win. Worst case you don't get a good eye poke in and you have to try again later in the fight. Eventually you should be able to blind one eye at least.
