Yep. Its not even primarily about who would have actually won, its that it tells you something about Jons personality. He is obviously an amazing fighter but he is also calculated and opportunistic and will do things to stack the deck even further in his favour in order to build up/protect his legacy. Poking eyes, stomping knees, taking PEDs, spending most of his career in a weight class where hes pretty much always the biggest strongest guy there, waiting for a guy he doesnt want to fight to leave before moving up to the weight class where that guy had the belt, stalling then fake retiring so he didnt have to fight the no1 contender who he didnt like the look of, then almost immediately coming out of retirement to fight a bigger star who he thinks will be an easier fight, etc etc.

Agreed with most of what you said. He’ll find all kinds of excuses not to fight Tom. Next one’s gonna be “the guy I submitted quickly made Tom quit” so he’s not worth my time”. Such a cheap shit.

Could even this old decripit version of Jones have beaten him? Yes. But there was still a big risk.

What's sad is that the extremely limited Aspinall(who only uses a 1-2 and a few low kicks) is considered even 1/10th of the abilities of a prime Jon Jones who is clearly the most talented fighter that has ever stepped foot inside the octagon.

I agree, but i noticed Aspinall was struggling with the Cyril’s reach, footwork and that stick move style. If anything in that bout showed us, that Aspinall couldn’t figure the distance or close it with someone who knows how to use their reach and that oblique might pose problems for Aspinall.
