Very true, Gane has been outgrappled, where Aspinall has a perfect record with grappling right now. However, Gane also is pretty good keeping distance and every opponent knew since his debut that he was a French Kickboxer, so strategy is pretty simple to take him down. Aspinall was known as a young HW with a BJJ background, so many probably foolishly avoided takedowns.
But hey, just a couple years ago, people were also inflating Pavlovich's TDD with no merit. They said Overeem fight was just a hard debut and he wasn't expecting it, but Khabib said he had good wrestling so he's perfect for Jones. I just see so many parallels between the Pavlovich train and the current Aspinall train.
I do think Tom is well rounded, the only 2 guys he hasn't fought are Gane and Almeida. I figure he probably will wrestle Gane and force Almeida to stand and can make it look easy, then the HW division is essentially cleared. But both guys are a test for Tom, Gane could have better TDD to keep it standing and Almeida might be able to get Aspinall down with ease.
