Conditioning

7 km walk

It was snowing rather heavily and I was one sweaty man when I was done. For about 500-600 meters I was running through snow that was crotch high, it was fucking horrible.

Sounds like you feel about squatting like I do about deadlifting and vice versa. My squat seems to move at will but deads frustrate me, but I would happily give up squats for deads.

I love deadlifitng and squatting. I do not care about bench though.

I don't care for deads compared to squats. I care about all lifts, they just aren't up to snuff with the squat. Oh and...DRAGO-O-O-O-O.

Squats are going good, not long before I go for a new 1 rm.

Shoulders are giving me loads of trouble, started Friday when benching and continued today while pressing. Pressing volume may be significantly decreased to sub in more pulling.
 
Thanks Modena, but it's not as clear cut as that. You just did 322.5 for ten triples which is just as good (most likely better than my three sets of 5) as what I did. Suffice to say we are both making good gains.

Wasn't feeling it today. Zercher squats are a pain in the ass (as well as elbow crooks), but they sure feel better than the FS.

BOR to get additional pulling in, light to ensure lots of lat activation.

Deads, just as last week, felt mighty heavy. 365 was my 1rm in August and I almost got a triple so it's not a huge loss.

I feel a 1000 lbs total is very near.

Wife and son have been sick since the 2nd, been taking care of them. Thought today would have been harder than it was seeing that I have not left the house really at all in over a week.

Narrowed squat stance a bit, these were incredibly deep squats. I was amazed after reviewing the vid of set 3. Thought that they would be harder with a narrow stance but difference was negligible.

Really tightened up bench form, watched Tate's series which really helped. I think. Still trouble with leg drive but shoulder issues seem to be gone.

Rows...I really don't like rows that much. I used to, but that is really not the case any longer.

All in all a good day of lifting.
 
Good work. I narrowed my stance quite a bit and really like it. I feel like I have a much better rebound at the bottom.

Agreed. With the wide stance I wasted all the elastic energy stored on the descent simply trying to get lower.

Agreed. Depth is tough to hit. My only issue with narrow is that I don't feel stable with a lot of weight. My last PR I was a bit wider, but I barely hit depth. I definitely prefer narrow now for all working/rep sets, but it's hard to stand narrow with a shitload of weight on your back!

When I go for a new 1rm on December 27 (which will not be 430, or anything even close to that really) I will widen up as well. The issue with training different stances is that you're not sure where parallel is. I have found that "bottoming out" is not always the best indicator of depth.

Down with the flu since Thursday, I was shaking like a dog shitting razor blades for most of the warm-up sets. If I had been healthy I can't even imagine how much I would have squatted.

EDIT: Broke the 1000 lbs big 3 total!!! Huh-zuh!
