Jeeez wait to soon after getting dropped and obviously his vision wasn't the issue regarding his head movement, he doesn't have any.

Still rooting hard for Olive and hope Rafa gets a TS with a win instead of Poirier/Chandler.

Charles's manager is stupid if they accept this. He was dropped like 6 times in the last year. He needs a break. He definitely doesn't need to be rushed back in there against one of the most dangerous strikers in the division.

To clarify, I have no problem with the match up. I just think it's too soon for charles. Hell, I thought the islam fight was too soon for charles after his wars against chandler, poirier and gaethje. The guy needs a break in my opinion. I'm sure charles will accept it though just because he wants to fight in Brazil.

You said everything I was thinking. This is how it used to feel to root for Chute Boxe fighters.

The dude is a warrior. I'll give him that. Wish we had more like him in the UFC.

Charles is getting paid well for fighting and it makes sense to make as much money as he can now. He's always been an active fighter so I think the concern about his health is a little much. He just had an 11 fight win streak doing this. This is what Charles does.
He just lost though and he's been dropped in every one of his recent fights on the way to the title and as the champion. He needs to chill a bit, fix why he always is getting caught and dropped because it's what caused him the title. Fiziev is a better striker than Gaethje and that's why Gaethje is ducking him. Fiziev is also a better striker than Islam with solid TDD that RDA couldn't get any grappling going.

These moves seems like fighters when they are on tilt. Rushing back in to try and build confidence back and get some momentum going and usually they end up losing and derail themselves even more and even lose more hype. Also the risk of taking more damage too soon and jumping back in with another fighter with knockout power. Charles should tighten up his defense first before going back in there. Every fighter recently is clipping him and dropping him in every fight.

His pay will be the same if he takes this fight or spends a few more months recovering and fixing the holes in his game. He's been very active and still lives in Brazil, his recent fight purses should be enough for him to live real comfortably as long as he isn't blowing his money and if his gym/coaches/managers isn't robbing all his fight purse money. There really is no need to rush for him. Go to the fights as a fan and enjoy the show.

This is a real crossroads fight for Oliviera. He wins, he's #1 contender, he loses, and he's on his way to gatekeeper. Win or lose though, it's been an impressive run for him.

I’ll tell you what, Charles has balls the size of watermelons.

What are they trying to do to Charles? Take a break your 1 good win from a title shot depending on how things play out. Fighting that monster Fiziev so soon is not a good idea, meanwhile Islam is fighting a small FW at a date TBA.
Also with Dariush already waiting his turn they're going to knock off 2/3 lw contenders while we wait for Islam to defend against someone from his weight class.

Great match-up. Kudos to Oliveira for staying busy and not being picky with his opponent. Good for Fiziev to get a well-deserved step up.

EDIT: apparently it was bullsh:t. Oh well.

While I agree that's what's best for him a big fight in brazil could mean huge money and the ufc hasn't been going there often it's not like he got badly ko'd or anything he tapped pretty quickly, didn't go to sleep or anything.

this is his prime and a good chance to make money there are two side to this one, Health wise not fighting is his best bet.

He got stunned hard in round one, then knocked down in round two. Not to mention he got knocked down twice against gaethje, and once against dustin all within the past twelve months. I just think it's time to let his brain rest a bit.

I think he'll still have a big fight waiting for him even if he took a couple months off.
