Well, this is a shocker. The Federal Government has just rejected California's proposed drivers' license for illegal aliens because it's virtually identical to the regular drivers licenses, making it very difficult for Federal officials to tell whether the holder is a citizen or not.

americans have been ok or were accepting of paying for their own poor people, their own military, their own corporations. It is a demonstration of the difference between the Labor and Progressive wings of the American left.

Cesar Chavez was strongly opposed to illegal immigration for this reason.

The reason that the common "left" opinion is more aligned with the progressive stance is due to a combination of PC culture and how labor's influence has been gutted by Reagan and his successors to better help the wealthy increase profits.

Some favor both increased wages and also free immigration and I've never seen an explanation of how that's supposed to work.
