Here's the thing... these teams/sections/roles are FULL of activists. How many of these activists will try and fuck things up on their way out the door if they are allowed back into the building? Remember in the old days of twitter when someone with TDS was about to leave, so they deleted Trump's twitter account before they did?Got it, that's what I figured the title meant. I don't know anything about HR law, but it wouldn't surprise me if paid leave was the only way such roles could be immediately dealt with. You can't just fire them (at least, I don't think you can), but at least this way you can keep them from doing any more hiring or implementing any more policies.
How many of these people were assigned too many permissions and would have access to do real damage? I personally wouldn't risk it and would have pulled all their access to the networks, cancelled their access passes and THEN told them they were going to be shit canned.
Screw letting any activist type back on site, someone else can clean out their shit and mail it to them in a box.
