Social US Naval Academy Library Removes Nearly 400 Books in DEI Purge

So some books about military history shouldn't be in a military library?
Which book about military history did I advocate for removing? Pretty sure my post indicated I thought some of the removed books should have stayed. One of the Trump admins greatest weaknesses so far is a scattershot approach to implementing their ideas instead of being more considered and targeted with changes they seek to implement.

They are trying to remove black people from history and succeeding by the looks of it lol

Such a weird country where such drastic changes can happen overnight
Project 2025 definitely prioritizes marginalizing black people as much as possible.

It is quite shocking how far they are able to go and so quickly, but sadly we dont have far to go see people of that mindset , right up in this thread.

Ban is a gas light word in this context... People are acting like they are made illegal and every copy hunted down and burned... That's not the case. They were removed from the navy for being a waste.. They arent banned. These authors/publishers are perfectly free to sell them on amazon or wherever. They are not banned but using the word ban is a better spin to fit their brain rot narrative

lol dont tell anyone that, Trump people play stupid an act like its not true.

At least is not forbidden owning those books at home (YET).

yeah... we are moving towards fascism and authoritarianism daily. its amazing people support it.

I don't want to hear any more about how far we have come in society. the only thing that has changed is our technology. morally and intellectually we have made VERY LITTLE progress at all and are currently moving backwards even from the little gains we have.

"the source" is the book that drove it all home for me. that book lays out the history of the jews from caveman times to post word war 11. it is filled but unbelievable atrocities and horrors. but the real horror for my young mind was coming to the end of all of that terrible history and the end of the book and realizing for the first time in my life that NOTHING has changed. there is no modern protection against the horrors of history. there is no dam to stop the flood intellectual or moral.

we will repeat them.
Our technology has far outpaced our evolution as a species. Even with all the resources readily available today, still we are driven by fear, greed, competition, etc. If we're going to ultimately survive as a species we need to move beyond such limiting motivations.

I'm sure all these sudden free speech absolutist who want this in the libraries will have no problem with Mein Kampf sitting right beside their favorite "White man bad" books. Also the reason the Nazis hosted the famous book burning was because it was books written by a doctor who was preaching transgenderism and transitioning German children. I have no problem repeating that correct action.

Absolutely this. There are loads of other pieces of literature absent from the navy library as well but they clearly aren't banned.

Man, I've often wondered this.

We've seen an almost exponential growth in the distribution of information through the internet

but as far as I can see people seem less informed, more anti-intellectual and even dumber than ever, at least in the US/ western world.

You'd think by now we'd being living in some Star Trek utopia, instead we are governed by fat, lascivious oligarch/reality tv star; who galvanizing people with bigotry, racism and all sorts of arcane ideologies (something out of the 30s)

You'd think we were moving away from this as a species but it seems like anti-intellectualism is the go-to and flourishing.

You're pretty simple if you conclude I'm referring to the amount of melanin in someone's skin, you lefties are always obsessing about race lol.

It obviously doesn't matter what someone looks like, maybe only to you guys... but what I'm referring to is values. So yeah, needless to say black and white people with similar values should have no problem achieving a common goal.

But when for example you flood a country with western Christian values, with immigrants who believe in sharia law, then diversity is not a strength. When you try to introduce mentally ill people who are confused about being men or women into your army, you are not making it stronger. When you try to fill your fire department with physically weaker females, you are not making them more effective.

Evolutionary time scale vs technological time scale. It's an interesting topic that's very intuitive once you get into it, because of course how can our biology keep up with the rate of technological development?

Had gpt flesh it out a bit if you're interested.

Usually when people in America (def here) are opposed to diversity, they are referring specifically to skin pigment. ie. the abject opposition to DEI

The fact that you interpret the presentation of Genghis Khans army as a representative of skin pigment cements this.
