Social US children fall further behind in reading, make little improvement in math on national exam

Former public school teacher here. I also used to have my kids in public school before I pulled them out for home school & private school.

It is bad, real bad. Worse than you would think.

It also leads to "fuck this shit, let's see what's on Tik Tok".

It's a cultural problem. We took steps up here in some areas to ban phones from the classroom, and that needs to be a global standard. Unfortunately, these devices make distractions easier for the students, while also making the teachers' jobs easier. It's a hell of a combination of apathy, that won't be stopped without some serious intervention.

If you ever have the opportunity to travel back in time, smack Steve Jobs around a bit. Throw an uppercut at Bill Gates for good measure.

Devices were an inevitability. Not too hard to predict what’s coming either (and it’s not going to help stimulate the brain….)
