I don't really count LOTR as a sequel. The trilogy is a singular entity.
Voted Blade Runner 2049.

The last 3 Star Wars films .

Mate , my tongue was so firmly in my cheek it poked my wife sat next to me...
I know just at first I thought you were that guy that goes on n on n on about how great they are n losses his shit n goes on n on about how stupid u are if you dont agree. Then reports you if you tell him to fuck off. Lol

TDK but two towers is extremely close

I agree that LOTR is one continuum rather than sequels
Peter Jackson did Tolkien proud I love those first 3 movies.. The hobbit ones were decent but not close to the first 3. Viggo Mortensen knocked it out of the park . Can you believe the originally had Stuart Townsend as Aragorn?? He would have been terrible

It's arguably the best cinematic accomplishment of all time. Seamless, epic, entertaining, intense and incredibly rewatchable.

As much as I want to vote Blade Runner 2049, I just can't do that with LotR and TDK sitting right there in the same poll.

Hard choice for me but only between LOTR and TDK.

I'm tempted to say TDK just because in the spirit of "best sequel" it is clearly the best movie of TDK trilogy.

Whereas for LOTR, all 3 movies are simply fantastic. The Two Towers is kind of a perfect movie

Nobody else will say it, so I'll pick The Dark Knight Rises. Other favorites of mine from trilogies that I love are Scream 3 and The Bourne Ultimatum. What can I say? I'm a sucker for the third films in trilogies.

For some other sequels nobody else will remember or bother to mention: Scary Movie 2 and Scary Movie 3, Next Friday, American Pie 2, Austin Powers: Goldmember, Rush Hour 2, Transporter 2, Mission: Impossible III and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol. For newer horror movies, Insidious: Chapter 2 is great, Terrifier 3 was much better than Terrifier 2, and MaXXXine is the best film in the trilogy. Split was also great even though Glass wasn't, and Creed II is the best of the Michael B. Jordan series.
