but you're 1000% right, UFC could fix this by simply stripping Jon, i know they think Jon losing is bad for business but their champion being too afraid to face the interim champion is what is bad for business. even the casuals know he's a paper champion at this point.

He wouldn't even humor standing at all with Pereira like the younger Jones would have. He's straight shooting as soon as round 1 starts. And he'd ask for the highest payday of his career just to do that.

He probably is a legit black belt. Jon has fought plenty of legit black belts. As I said, his grappling would be tested by one of the greatest MMA wrestlers ever, not somebody like Volkov.

Well, my point was not to call Volkov some great MMA grappler because he isn't, but more that Aspinall hit a straight armbar, which is a pretty rare submission, in the very first round against a guy who's only been subbed 3 times in 49 professional fights.

It actually reminds me a little of Jon Jones' victory over Vitor Belfort by americana, except Jon had to beat Vitor up first and almost got armbarred himself earlier in the fight.

Yeah, Tom would not be the first BJJ black belt Jon has fought, but he would be the biggest.
