Yeah, he's 31 years old and already defended an interim title and beaten 3 of the other 4 guys in the top 5 and isn't even next in line for the "champ" who's only fought once in over 4 1/2 years. It's going to be first quarter 2025 and either Jones doesn't retire and they merge titles or they send Pereira up for vacant title. I guess Volkov/Gane winner would be 3rd pick.

Aspinall isn't as screwed as people make it out to be. He got an early interim title shot after 1 win, won the fight on short notice, defended it to avenge his loss. Either way he's in one of the 2 slots for the HW title match after Stipe.

Jones & Stipe should be ashamed of themselves. Jon is holding up the division clinging to glory by not relinquishing the belt. He’s ducking the interim champ to fight a man with 0 wins over the current UFC roster.

Stipe has been inactive for 3+ years and should have enough sense to retire. He was brutally KO’d by Ngannou and he sounds like Boomhauer from King of The Hill when he talks.

HW has always been the weakest but now it's probably the shittiest state in 20 years. Aspinall (who is the best because he has at least some versatility unlike fat guys with big right hands who can never get up from a takedown) can't fight for the undisputed title because all potential opponents look like a joke. Jon Jones won the title and stopped fighting. And fighters like Blaydes and Spivak are legitimate top contenders. This is tragic.

Realistically when is Tom fighting next then? Yes, he's the backup to Jones-Stipe in November but let's assume that both of them make it then what? Assuming Jones wins he'll milk the "will he, won't he" retirement talk for as long as possible before he makes his decision if he'll defend against Tom.

So what one 1 minute long fight in all of 2024 for Tom? A fight next maybe in March of 2025? Such a waste of his prime right now.

Connor didn't have to endlessly defend an interim belt though. He became the big thing because he rightly got the chance to unify the belts immediately, then got to cherry pick a second belt.

He got to that opportunity by marketing himself. "Were here to take over," remember? His mouth got him a shot, he delivered in conferences and in the fight.

Then he got the LW belt and a mayweather fight.

Dont you see? He didnt have to defend and happen to get a 2nd belt. Hes lost both belts, gotten in trouble, hasnt fought, been in an awful remake, but hes still a star.

The belts, his wins, his predictions, all worked while he was selling his brand and he didnt get it by running after another conor.
