It is definitely one of the weakest periods. I would say only the late 90s/pre Zuffa 00s were worse. Lack of star power, Apex cards, WMMA, weak champs, endless decisions, and most divisions are worse than they were a decade ago.

I'm not saying it's a skill or experience issue, but taking a fuck ton of time off and aging are the two biggest factors.

Belal, Usman, Leon have all been active compared to Georges and training their reflexes, timing, patterns, going through full fight camps and the whole nine while GSP has been relaxing and just doing some general fitness. If he comes back now, he is going to look like he is stuck in molasses compared to these guys.

Yep. 100% agreed. I can't trust that deserving fighters are going to get title shots for their hard work or that other fighters are going to deserve their title shots (it really kills my interest in the sport to see them getting easy paths to the title or just blatantly having the deck stacked for them). On top of all the other UFC bullshit, I'm less interested than ever.
