Pereira never had this issue, his body is naturally a generic freak, already. And his power too. Tom's punches would register 5x below Pereira's in the PI machine when thrown many times, which was another huge red flag as to how he was generating so much power with half jabs and dropping his opponents.
That's why imo he looks way more selective on who he fights now, avoids Pereira, is projecting a hell of a fight bs Gane, while lacking that vibe of "I'll beat Gane and Jones in the same day". Somewhat what Jiri went through. But Jiri's case was different, Tom's was... He had a punching power and a body mass that he shouldn't have scientifically and it is showing now. That's mainly why I say Pereira beats him, that's why he's more hesitant I'd say too... And JJ likely didn't seem worth enough into the fight, I'd guess. In the end, Tom was the one raising a petition to strip JJ when JJ had said the day before him and Tom were aligned. It kinda sucks for Tom, but... He isn't the guy who'll take on the next era, I think Pereira only sees value in HW due to JJ, not Tom, who's easier now. But I wonder, I think team Jones said they'd still fight Pereira , that for Pereira Jones would sacrifice his legacy as he sees worth it.
