I never said they were perfect, or even good, but you seemed to not understand why rankings exist or how they work.I wouldn't always trust those, they had Conor ranked at least til 2020

About 3,000 muslim athletes competed in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London when there was 17 hours of daylight a day, including delegations sent by Saudi Arabia and Iran. While some fasted during the day, many found religiously approved alternatives.Belal Muhammad, Khamzat Chimaev, Muhammad Mokaev, and Ali Bagautinov all disagree.
I understand what they are but you can't take them at face value all the time.I never said they were perfect, or even good, but you seemed to not understand why rankings exist or how they work.
If you understand what they are then you didn't need to ask which 3 fighters I was talking about. You don't have to agree, but you basically had to play dumb to ask the question.I understand what they are but you can't take them at face value all the time.
For example if Vadim nemkov got a title shot this march I'd be fine with it despite him not being current ranked
but 2 of those 3 alex already beat no?If you understand what they are then you didn't need to ask which 3 fighters I was talking about. You don't have to agree, but you basically had to play dumb to ask the question.
Rountree was eightth. Ankalaev, Rakic, Krylov and Ulberg were ranked higher (I should have said 4, I forgot Krylov).but 2 of those 3 alex already beat no?
Would it not have been Jiri hill and ankalaev?
I think at the time, Krylov was already booked against mahaduzara.... Ulberg was booked against ozdemir.. Rakic was booked against anakalev so they were just all booked previously.Rountree was eightth. Ankalaev, Rakic, Krylov and Ulberg were ranked higher (I should have said 4, I forgot Krylov).
We'll just have to disagree about whether or not they could have made Alex vs Ankalaev or Rakic and whether or not someone barely in the top ten deserves a title shot.I think at the time, Krylov was already booked against mahaduzara.... Ulberg was booked against ozdemir.. Rakic was booked against anakalev so they were just all booked previously.
I believe that that event UFC 307 was supposed to be Illa vs max, but they moved to AD. because the AD card was supposed to be Islam vs Armen.
and i will contest right now that Roundtree jr was more deserving than Krylov based on activity, and opposition. Krylov still has not fought this year. and by no means deserved that opportunity more than Khalil. I am a fan of krylov but he has not fought since march 2023, which is going to be 2 years in a few weeks. Krylovs last win was ryan spann, who is patently worse than Roundtree Jr's last win (smith). Rakic was on a 2 fight losing streak, vs Roundtree jr on a 5 fight winning streak. I think Roundtree would have been a better pick than rakic too all things considered. Giving Rakic a title fight off of getting finished back to back is worse by a wide margine. i'd be fne with ulberg ankalaev or roundtree. but not krylov or rakic
Roundtree deserved it more than rakic. But I know they could have made ankalaev fight. But imo that's on Ali for accepting anything other than a title fight for his fighterWe'll just have to disagree about whether or not they could have made Alex vs Ankalaev or Rakic and whether or not someone barely in the top ten deserves a title shot.
He could have said long ago, make the Ank fight happen. Simple as that.
So keep Ramadan in mind when y'all are planning who fights when, where and against whom. Not that he'd have to make that clear to the UFC, they know already.
Yeah, you don't have to be picky, if the company only gives you easy stylistic match ups.
It's like saying you are not a picky eater, because you always have a chef make you exactly what you like to eat.
I never said he should be picky, I'm saying he has shared responsibility over who he fights, but you act like there is 0 accountability on his side. You not only act like it, I'm pretty sure you said it. Which is just plain wrong and likely naive.
If he doesn't mind a legacy that is largely definied by him just getting easy stylistic match ups and not fighting the number one contender that is also a harder stylistic match up, then he should just keep on enjoying his protection.
If he actually wants to prove he is the best MMA fighter in his division and his success is not just dependent on the protection he has enjoyed, he should probably ask for Ank or even Khamzat, Jon or Aspinall (to some degree, not the best in his division part,).
It's because you are only half getting what I'm saying.
Also fighting the toughest fights out there is hardly considered being picky, only by people such as you who need to make it sound as unflattering as possible to fit their agenda of defending the fighter they are a fan of.
Normal MMA fans see it as badass if a fighter seeks out the hardest fights, and tries to prove their skillset is well rounded enough for what MMA generally can throw at them, and not just glorified kickboxing fights in an MMA settting.
Alex doesn't seek anyone he just fights who he is told and he always has. So for him to seek anyone would be out of character
That doesn't make it a bad thing.
Because analaev is the fighter you like you want Alex to change what he's been doing what has made him popular and successful to appease the match making you'd like to see
Nah, because I like the sport to retain and rebuild as much integrity as possible, instead of keep losing integrity.
I'm an Alex fan, just not an Alex nuthugger. It's hard for some people to understand that you can be a fan of a fighter, but still not like certain things they do.
