He has a 30% take down accuracy and in his last 2 fights didn't shoot a single takedown.

One, I have most definitely not said Ankalaev is an elite grappler. Two, we don't know what Alex's ground game is like or just how good a grappler has to be to cause problems for him.

It sounds like we have different definitions of "manufactured" and, because that is absolutely something the UFC does for their favoured fighters, I'm most definitely going to have to see Perreira prove himself. Bullshit fights against Jiri and Rountree are not what I want to see from him. Reyes, Santos and even Gustaffson were never supposed to beat Jones on paper, but some would argue they did just that. I want every top contender to get a shot at him, in order, to see exactly what he's capable of, because MMA is full of surprises, twists and turns.

A good offensive grappler could go on a run at 205 right now but there really aren't any takedown machines who can brawl their way into a shot or a clinch in the top 15 at 205 these days.

Maybe in a few years if Khamzat stays active and moves up from 185.

But Alex will have retired by then.

Roundtree was on a 5 fight winning streak and had finished Anthony smith. Same Anthony smith glover finished for his shot, and ankalaev finished for his shot and so on a such forth.
