42 year old Stipe and ducking Ngannou and Aspinall. Can Jones have a HW legacy without the Aspinall fight??

Let’s pretend Francis didn’t leave. How do you duck someone who isn’t even in your weight class? Now every champion is ducking if they don’t move up? We love to create new standards for fighters we don’t like.

He waited until he left to move up. He said he wanted to move up to HW 3 years before. Now he only wants to fight a 45 year old that hasn't won a fight in 5 years.

He won a vacant belt. GSP beat the legit champ.

You can't be a 3 time drug cheat and be the GOAT.
He beat the #1 contender though, and made it look easy. It isn't his fault Francis left. It's fair if people disqualify Jones for ped use, I actually do myself. But peds aside he's the best lhw ever. By a wide margin.

He beat the guy that lost to a 1 legged Ngannou who fought hurt, so he could end his contract.

The UFC picks the #1 contender. He was cherry picked to be an easy fight.
Word was he cherry picked to be an easy fight for Francis too? Gane is STILL ranked #2 at hw to this day. But if it makes you feel better to act like they pulled some random out of the crowd, you do you lmao.

Nobody knows that shit. It is your right to create whatever assumption or narrative you want but it does not make it a fact. Ngannou had a contract to fight jon jones twice and another opponent and did not sign his contract. He had a three fight contract that he negotiated and was cut from the UFC because he did not want to sign it, and wanted to box. Ngannou reneged on his contract that he put in place. Jon Jones signed his contract on the date he was supposed too and Ngannou did not and left. Both were asking for large paydays and good money. Ngannou mentioned that he could box after he finished his three fight deal but did not sign all together because he was asking for crazy shit that Dana white was not going to give him. Ngannou mentioned that jones was furious at him for not signing that contract.

Ngannou is also a white belt. He has 4 submission wins and Gane has 3 submission wins. The Gane fight was not a gimmie, some thought Gane was a tougher opponent because he was more elusive than Ngannou, and a better striker. It was not Ganes grappling that caused him the fight, he panicked and tapped quickly when jones locked in that guillotine choke. Same thing could have happened to Ngannou who is no better as jones is a far superior submission wrestler than both men.
Ngannou was not cut from the ufc

I believe Gane was undefeated when he fought Ngannou. Losing to an injured striker with wrestling showed he wasn't as good as people thought he was.

Dana may as well put Aspinall and the rest of the heavyweight division on gardening leave till he's done teabagging Jones.

It blows my mind that some people are still trying to justify what he's done.

But fighting Jones was in the contract that Ngannou turned down before leaving the company, which is confirmed by all three parties. You're also missing the part where Jones beat the fighter that went life and death with Ngannou in less than a single round.

Jon fighting and beating a washed up Stipe does nothing for him, but if Jon was to beat Aspinall that would be legit because Aspinall is not a scrub.

Ngannou fought hurt, because he wanted to get out of his contract. He said before that fight it was his last fight with the UFC. Ngannou also easily won as well.

It doesn't matter if it was in his contract. Jones never agreed to it.
He also was offered a 3 fight deal for 8 million. He made 10 million from 1 boxing match. Ngannou probably made more money from 2 boxing matches then Jones made in his UFC career.

Legacy? He has one HW win, which cant even be considered a run

He needs to fight

Easily won is a first round finish or 50-45. If Gane didn’t go for a heel hook, the general consensus is that he would have won the fight. We can talk about him being injured. But without the knee injury, how exactly does Ngannou finish him in the first round? His striking is too wild and unpolished to overwhelm Gane and they’re both novices on the ground.

My point is that at the very least Jones and Ngannou are in the same tier of fighter. That sounds like Ngannou chose money over legacy. If what you’re saying is true, Jones career would have been over if Ngannou stayed. Because he would have still been champion, meaning no comeback for Jones. That doesn’t sound very plausible.
