Except most illegal aliens are low wage workers, and so they do NOT contribute to the state's tax base to anywhere near the degree they take from it.
They do not own property (hence no property taxes).
They do not make much in the way of income (so they pay little in the way of state income tax).
They do not own capital (and so do not pay capital gains taxes).
It's true they probably smoke and drink more than the average citizen, and so they will pay disproportionately more excise taxes on cigarettes and alcohol.
But, yeah, give them even more benefits ! That's the ticket to a smart, well-run society.
Bruh, I wasn't going to post anything but the second to last passage was probably the most absurd thing I've read in weeks.
For the record, I'm undocumented with a work permit thanks to the dreamer thing. I'm 22, been here since I was 4 months old, sup.
Undocumented folks are fucking poor. They certainly do not risk their lives and leave the only home they know to rape and pillage the US of it's benefits (whatever those are cause my folks never saw them). They come here bc living in a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment is alot better than sleeping on cold concrete with a sad excuse of a roof as cover.
My father is a chef, and a damn good underpaid one at that. We grew up poor, but I never went to bed hungry. My folks would explain how they grew up and it was shitty, very little material goods, little income prospects.
The only thing I remember my family ever getting for free was my brothers brain and heart surgeries. He has cerebral palsy, and had crippling epilepsy. They performed a split brain surgery at ucla I believe, idk i was like 5 or 6. But anyways, that's all I remember them getting for free.
I had decent grades and act scores in high school, like a 3.7 GPA and a 28 or whatever. I couldn't afford going to a university, again bc we were poor, receiving nothing for financial aid, no scholarships, and higher tuition rates. So yea, I spent alot of nights staring at my ceiling at 3 in the morning bc there was nothing for me. Can you imagine that at 18? Oh boy.
So I went into the work force out of high school with a VERY uncertain future. I was working at McDonald's for nearly 2yrs bc that's the only place that would hire me. About a year into being there, I decdied I'd go to trade school. Again, no financial aid or shit like that. Just the chump change I had gathered up from working. A two week salary was my monthly tuition payment lololol.
The school tried turning me away bc thru felt I wouldn't be able to get a job upon graduating. I refused to leave bc i was fed up working a shit job and just sort of rolled the dice.
6 months in and the whole work permit program was announced and when I finished I had jobs lined up.
2 years after graduating, I have my own business, and my school is literally 95% paid off. Again, with zero aid.
I am planning on buying a house for myself and my folks in Colorado within the next year. I smoke pot nightly, I assist my high school coaches with their wrestling program, and I get the same taxes taken out of my checks like any of you.
Illegals are people just like you. Albeit more poor and probably more desperate, but people no less.
It is kinda lame that I cannot own a gun tho. Chicago ain't no joke lmao.
