1-1 with Tom Aspinall 3-2 in his last 5

What the hell...
This has to be the worst take on these fights I have ever seen.

The fight was 15 secs, no one landed any real strikes and as Tom stepped back and his knee buckled as he was pushed back by the strike that diodn't even hurt him.
There wasn't even a chance to see who was better and we have seen Curtis look great on the feet, before getting destroyed by a clean shot, 3x.

Aljo vs Yan, was Aljo throwing too much offence in the first round. Not being able to recover and then Yan shitting the bed by throwing the illegal knee. It still was a massive shot that landed to his face. He over acted it, but he was still hurt by about as clean a knee as you can take. I am sure he was KO'd legitimately, he did end up with another neck surgery out of it and recurrent concussion issues.
So many people on here claim Blaydes was "picking him apart" in the first fight. It's insane.

Rizvan is not a bum. Interesting fight to me. Blaydes is just a perenial top 5, but not good enough for the gold.

Blades weakness is power punchers, which Jon is anything but. So I also think blades would beat the breaks off Jon if Jon wasn't such a pussy at ducking hws. Volkov would beat the brakes off Jon too but we all know that Jon won't ever let that fight happen. He such volkov worse than he ducking Tom. But yeah blades is Taylor made to beat the brakes off of Jonny boi.

Seems like a pretty good fight. Blaydes has already been KO'd in 2 of his last 3, so they aren't going to put him against another top 5, so this will either get Blaydes back in the win column, or get someone new in the rankings.

He should be thankful he still has a job.

Blaydes and Rozenstruik are pretty much cut from the same cloth. Journeymen ranked in the top 10 by virtue of such a shallow pool of fighters. Another loss by Blaydes and he'll be knocking on PFL's door.

You're right but the difference is Jarzinho is a striker and Blaydes a grappler, usually grapplers are the ones treated harshly, Jarzinho got the boot after one loss in a row.

Is this like an old bumped thread or is the fake champ fighting an unranked dude? The UFC hw division only has 3 unranked dudes since they only have like 18 dudes

Agreed that Aspinall and Blaydes wins are equal.

Curtis kicked that leg.

It could be that it was coincidental but it just seems more likely that the kick is what did that leg in.

That said, I think Curtis vs Lewis II would've been a better option and Blaydes is only a couple, a few tops, wins away from a TS.

Kuniev doesn't have name value and his 1st fight in the UFC shouldn't be a top contender. That said, the scenario is a win-win for Kuniev.
If Blaydes were the 5 point palm exploding heart technique of leg kickers, where he can land a single leg kick, they keep fighting, and 10 seconds later the guy's ACL on his other leg explodes, you'd think he'd employ that strategy more often.

You right.

I just saw it again. It was the other leg that got kicked.

It was an accident and Apinall's win weighs more.

Watched this guy's Eagle FC fight before, he seemed good, iirc quite well-rounded and moved well on the feet for a HW and I was surprised by his young age. Glad to see him come over.
I doubt they're phasing him out. I think they just want to give Rizvan a good matchup against someone with wrestling and a little well-rounded and it's not like HW is a deep division. If Blaydes loses he'll still be considered an important HW by the UFC brass, but just not a contender for a while.
