Worse look - Tom quitting or Jones ducking?

Which is worse—Aspinall saying he can’t continue, or Jones not fighting Tom?

He said he’d do as much too yet the UFC successfully pulled the wool over your eyes and Tom’s by thinking it would be otherwise.

Here’s the FACTS: The UFC saw more value in Jones sitting as an inactive champion with the potential he would defend against Aspinall than they did as Aspinall as the undisputed champion.

Otherwise, they would have stripped him and made Aspinall vs. Gane over a year ago. The UFC has a track record of fumbling super fights but the Jones hate boner boys will use him as a scapegoat every time.
Jones is a duck. And the UFC enabled him.

Frankly, I’m equally fine with both.

Jones doesn’t believe all the hype about Aspinall and has been around long enough to recognize a hype train when he sees one, and is at a point where he will only take the absolute biggest fights that can add something to his legacy. I agree with him that, as good as Aspinall appears to be, he’s still a relatively new face in the heavyweight landscape.

Now, regarding Aspinall, he took some disgustingly nasty eye pokes (in both eyes) and was fighting a highly technical fighter, and defending his title for the first time. Being able to see is the most basic and necessary ability one can rely on in a fight. I fail to see how it is shameful to be quitting a fight when that ability is taken away from you or badly impeded to a point where you know it’ll lead to you fighting with a gigantic handicap - and one that is stemming from something illegal, albeit unintentional. I get that it sucks to pay for a PPV that ends like this uneventful mess, but I’d much rather see this fight unfold to its genuine result knowing that both men remained unaffected by any such foul throughout.

Since I was sporadically following the forum during the attempted creation of the fight, did Jones allude at one point that he wanted to fight him and pull out? Because that would be a bigger disappointment than a perceived damaging eye poke.
