why the fans hate Ian Garry?

I won’t address the outside of competition stuff, but he has a tremendous skill set, however it appears he doesn’t have the ability to commit or sit on his punches, or refuses to take any chances.

He’s a prototype of the past Jackson/Wink fighters who prefer safe point gaming the unified rules, while sacrificing significant offense or dealing damage. He fights like he’s sparring, meanwhile instead of a show the opponent gets flustered as do the fans, extremely monotonous to watch, the absolute opposite of just bleed. He’s as elusive as a vintage Machida, without a kill switch or instinct to pressure after he has a guy hurt.

He has a ton of talent, I’m just hoping one day he’s confident enough to deal damage and has the ability to put opponents away.
Not sure it's monotonous. It's very high level, although his opponent brought the excitement.

I don't get why people call him a cuck, isn't the guy who cooks his meals while Ian bangs his ex wife more of a cuck?

I won’t disagree with the 5th being a fun watch, although Ian made a Shavkat fight hard watch, that takes effort.

Love Ian Garry, successfully bet on him twice now, it's all the more better that everyone hates him, they all pick Prates, and I sit there and laugh when he wins, prefer if he wins boringly to be honest, makes it more funny, but someone will eventually put him out.

It was only exciting because Garry almost got KO-ed and then he was running away the last round.

And he's been fighting long enough now where he should be fighting the top contenders.
Wrong. Entire fight was entertaining. Garry is an extremely high level striker.

Yea that would be fine and admirable if it wasn't for his mouth trying to cash checks his body can't.

He talks shit like he's at the top of the division, then fights like a bitch decision machine.

He got badly out-struck by MVP , and had to panic wrestle for the entire fight to barely squeak out a win. After he said he was the best striker in the UFC and would KO him.

At the end of the day, it's not about whether Ian Garry "panic wrestled", it's about whether he adjusted, adapted, and found a way to win. MVP is one of the most awkward, unorthodox strikers out there. If Garry had stood there swinging wild and gotten clipped, you would be saying he was dumb for not grappling.

Yep, everyone immediately rightly called Strickland a dumbass when he decided to try and stand and bang with Poatan.

That's like saying someone ho lay n prayed "adjusted" to their opponent piecing them up.

I think you are missing the point. MMA is like a game of chess, a puzzle, you use the tools you have at your disposal that make you superior to your adversary. That's what guys like Ian do. Sorry Sherbro, we aren't in the savage pride days anymore, some of these guys actually have a IQ first approach to the game.

He pretty much is at the top of the division or very close to it. He's 16-1 overall and 9-1 in the UFC with his only loss being a 48-47 decision against an undefeated fighter in Shavkat.

He looks like an absolute douchebag.

Some people’s appearances just put everyone off. Garry is like that.

After tonight I’m officially a fan of the dude. He is a 💯 legit killer.
Are you being sarcastic?

After that fight I don't see him as a killer at all.

So stop padding his record with lower ranked fighters and throw him to the wolves. Jack Della Maddelena, Buckley, Sean Brady, etc.

I mean, Shavkat was his last officially booked fight. This just looks like a step backwards because Ian stepped up on 3 weeks notice as a replacement, which he deserves credit for nonetheless.

People are saying he's a point fighter.

He TRIED to knock Prates out but Prates ate everything.

What more could he have done? Garry threw hard in every round.

I agree he deserves credit for that.
