Why do people try to stand with Poatan when they clearly should be trying to get it down?

You guys haven't noticed that over the last few years that the fighters have been more inclined to "stand and bang" than was the case in previous years ? Even when it makes no sense to do so you see it happening more and more. There is a clear difference in fights overall from the UFC to Bellator/PFL for example.

Jamal Hill has literally never lost a fight on the feet. He might have thought he was at Alex's level, as crazy as that sounds. And he has no notable background in wrestling or BJJ.

Poatan also KOs you stiff before you have a chance to realize how fucked you are. It isn't like he destroys you and gives you opportunities to panic wrestle. He gets reads, doesn't inflict a ton of damage, then knocks you out. Strickland, Izzy, Hill were all more or less in OK shape before he turned off their lights.

I'd like to see the UFC sign Josh Silveira to a contract. He has solid wrestling with excellent BJJ. Decent hands, but hopefully wouldn't try to stand with Alex. It would be nice if Alex would get threatened on the ground so we see how he handles real adversity there.

He has a glass jaw. It's too tempting for them. They want to be known as the guy who KOed this supposedly great striker.

Maybe there is a lockerroombonus-incentive of peace in the UFC

You want that red panty-money? then you stand and bang bro
