Which are the wreslters with best boxing in MMA history?

gsp
topuria
islam
dc
maybe usman

The fuck dude no mention of GSP who had miles better technical boxing than any of them?

Also total dark horse here but Yoel has to come up in this conversation IYKYK

Nobody else breaking hands with their guard and slipping punches like Yoel did late in his career.

Classic Cuban boxing tricks

The lack of GSP who dominated so many fights with his jab and cross is criminal. OP has so many horrible takes on MMA it's like he's going for worst thread creator of the year.

I was confused by his take, glad I am not alone.

I may be slow (hung over) but still don't understand what he is looking for.
GSP was a striker who took up wrestling

I appreciate the attempt at help, but OP is still confusing or at least 'not clear' to me. (it wasn't just the GSP thing)

He say's 'background wrestling', not a background IN wrestling. And looking at who he excludes, I think he means guys who actively include offensive wrestling, not guys who have it but keep it 'in the background' and just want to strike?

So maybe he thinks GSP did not 'box enough'? Employed TOO MUCH offensive wrestling?

I'm lost lol.

lol yeah, OPs criteria are confusing. I assumed he was excluding people whose background was brief or low-level wrestling (or maybe never used their wrestling in MMA) because I'd probably make the same distinction -- it would never make sense for me to say Chuck was a wrestler because of his high school experience when he never used it in MMA except to stand up

Either way, I'm not sure how GSP could ever be in the conversation because he was never a wrestler.

As for OP's answer, I think it would have to be someone like Rampage. Or maybe Aaron Pico, depending on the timeline of his training.

Those guys are more strikers than grapplers and OP said those don't count, he listed Liddell, Gaethje and Topuria as guys he doesn't count cause they are strikers in MMA and I would consider Rampage, Pico and Hendricks strikers too.

Sure but Hendricks was a striker with a grappling base and OP said those shouldn't count so who knows what fits his criteria.
I dno't think he said Hendricks didn't fit his criteria, I think he said that Hendricks does fit, but is in a level below in terms of striking. I'd love for OP to clarify -- he's blueballing a bunch of MMA fans that want to talk about this, but don't know how to.

There was this guy named chuck liddell who was pretty good. Also my boy rampage
