Economy WEF Sherbros. What do you think about these comments by Musk on JRE?

So....

Don't listen to what they are actually saying. Or look at what they are actually doing. Just recognize that orange man bad and space man dumb.

Got it!
Do look at what they're doing, like the proposed cuts and raising the deficit by 4 trillion, saying they've saved tens of billions but have maybe saved two while laying off shit loads off people and accidentally compromising our national security in the process.

Do look at Elon's financial ties to China. So forth.

Your in depth analysis of what musk said about social security is breath taking

The thread was to see what WEF Sherbros thought of the comments. I don't believe I have a contractual obligation to provide analysis.

Do you know the theft/fraud rate of literally a single government service? Do you know anything about the SS cap? Do you even know what that is without having to look it up?
Gosh no, I was not aware there was theft and fraud in government outside of the SS system. By all means carry on with the fraud and theft then. Everyone does it!

Imagine if there was some government agency designed to identify stuff like that thatthe left didn't turn into fake hysterical cunts about.

So that's a no, thanks.

I'll never understand the kink a lot of you have for anonomously embarrassing yourselves on the internet

A Ponzi scheme (/ˈpɒnzi/, Italian: [ˈpontsi]) is a form of fraud that lures investors and pays profits to earlier investors with funds from more recent investors.

I guess retirement is a Ponzi scheme too. I'll let the elderly people in my life know they've been defrauding me, I'd rather see them go through rough times.

In fact it's much easier to make the argument that Capitalism itself is a Ponzi/pyramid scheme and Musk's own companies and his own fortune are great examples.

How, exactly are you getting that I am calling social security a bad thing or something that needs to end? You posted the definition of a Ponzi scheme and all I said was that SS is pretty darn close to that definition and then, I said that I hoped they weren’t considering ending it because of the similarities. Maybe some reading comprehension

How is how much money a retired person is allowed to receive the issue here?

Little bit concerning than Elon seems to think that people are living too long imo.

Musk may be an extremely powerful man but he is a terrible speaker, not eloquent at all, not even particularly coherent, and despite his clout, I am not sure that I like him being on Team Conservative, and I say that as a conservative.

And BTW that edgelord comment about the ponzi scheme is juvenile. Everywhere in the world with some sort of social system we don‘t know how the fuck we are going to fund social security because the active to retirees ratio is droppinh very fast and in 10 to 20 years it‘s going to become the nastiest political topic.

Not sure why everyone thinks Musk is such a messiah for addressing this.

Your argument falls flat. You should feel bad

Does Elon say he wants to get rid of it? I didn't hear that. He is describing the problem.

Unfortunately people hear what they want to hear.

In their binary minds either:

1) Fully support everything that social security does and trust that the government is doing everything perfectly.

Or

2) The system is completely fucked. It's all about graft and scammers.

But...

3) Some people recognize that government is the least efficient mechanism for doing anything however it is a necessary for the common good to provide a social safety net. Additionally, those same people are asking to see how the system works, where can we gain efficiency and reduce fraud and waste.

And...

4) It isn't Nazi-ish to describe the unsustainability of the current system. It isn't hateful transphobic misogyny to point out that our reduced birthrate cannot sustain an ever aging population. It isnt racist to describe a system that was built like a pyramid is getting turned upside down and will eventually fall.

But hey, it's very fashionable to hate on Elon right now. Carry on.
Well, if his actions with DOGE are indication of his intentions we can trust that all he wants to do is s*** all over social security and gut it without actually admitting that because he's a coward a snake and a liar.

The so-called fraud this guy has found is an absolute joke... There are billions of dollars to be found easily and quickly.... Firing trans people is not where the money is. It's a freaking joke. That's not what they're up to... they are not trying to help. They are just trying to gut a bunch of agencies that are in the way of exploiting more resources or people and so they can give tax breaks too billionaires.

Elon seriously needs kicked out of this country... He's a worm.

He's not generally wrong.

Massive economic problems will be compounded with demographics that live longer (while retiring at the same age) and a lessening of replacement workers into the overall structure.

Capitalism has some nasty ebbs and flows, inherently. We're seeing that both worldviews tragically result in millions of lives lost when the pendulum swings too far one way. Probably something we can't get away from. A Sisyphean crisis, framed in the absurd. Live and learn, hopefully.
