Opinion Musk takes aim at law firms involved in Trump policy challenges

If you don’t agree with how Congress spends money, then the people can find out who voted that way and vote them out of office next chance they get. Having a POTUS unilaterally end funding that’s mandated by Congress is totally unconstitutional, regardless of whether you agree with that President’s financial priorities or not.

First you have to know what they are doing with it which DOGE is doing.

If the courts stop the freeze then so be it. If Congress wants it stopped they can pass a bill to stop it so be it.

DOGE isn’t doing that, they are misrepresenting pretty badly what is being done with the money. But even if they were accurate, those things are ultimately for Congress to decide.

Hopefully the courts stop it, but what good would it be for Congress to pass a law to stop it if Trump is already ignoring things Congress passed? Trump’s MO, which is to just decree whatever he wants no matter how illegal or unconstitutional it is, and force everyone else to file lawsuits if they want to stop it, is a pretty blatant and dangerous constitutional violation. It should be reigned in ASAP, it’s not a road we want to go down.

It's not going to get reigned in, it's their entire strategy.

Use congress to stack the courts and surrender to the President. No matter what happens in the courts the case will eventually be at the feet of some Heritage Foundation funded Federalist Society loser to just cave to the President.

Fascism is coming.

Agree, and that’s why Congress should impeach and remove Trump now.

lmao, they just rolled over for his cabinet appointments. It's a wrap.

Impeachment isn't possible.
I know, that’s why I said “should.” Both Republicans Democrats in Congress should have a vested interest in not seeing the entire legislative body completely stripped of power and left whimpering. So far they seem content to play doormat.

"Nooo! Our deeemocracyyyyyyyyyyy!!" Using the word "democracy" ad nauseum has long been the globalist USAID playbook, both here and abroad. They are the most anti-democratic people in this country. You are correct. The cuck judges will be overruled, and the deep state purge will continue. The best is yet to come!
This is a huge pit they're falling into. It's like opposing a bill called "Save the puppies and give ice cream to everyone". They are digging themselves in the hole of opposing everything Trump does, the good and the bad, so it's the boy who cried wolf story, when there's bad stuff, no one listens to them anymore.
Adding the fact that the most prominent democrats like AOC, Maxine Watters, Schumer, and the loud crowd like the squad members are dumb as rocks and can't coherently explain why that's bad outside of "bilionairemanbad", it's a ticket to a very bad outcome for them. Not that i'd protest their choices, every conservative is loving to see it.

TDS is a full time job for these guys goddamn
Going to be a long four years for you guys

Republicans would form a “Save the Puppies” agency and put Kristi Noem in charge of it.

Right now as I type this, half a billion dollars in food is rotting away in ports because Trump gutted USAID—all in the name of “eliminating waste.” <lol>

Those evil “globalists” at USAID purchase 2 BILLION dollars worth of food a year from American farmers, who are now in danger of serious hardship because of Trump and Musk’s actions. And btw, of course USAID uses the word “democracy” a lot, promoting democracy is right in their mission statement.

I sure don’t see SpaceX’s new 40 million dollar contract on the chopping block while other contracts are. I don’t see him closing down his own billions of dollars in government subsidies. I don’t see anyone interested in closing the tax loopholes that allow Tesla to take in 2.3 billion in income and pay $0 in federal taxes.

We aren’t fooled by their bullshit. We see exactly what they’re doing—and notably, what they’re not doing.

If the courts included the Supreme Court believe he is over stepping them I'm fine with that. I have no problem with Court challenges. I'm calling out the temper tantrums the democr are throwing because they were exposed.
What is the temper tantrum that you're referring to, if not the litigation? Because the thread is about Musk calling out law firms for handling cases.

I won't even bother discussing what "exposed" means and how it doesn't actually apply to this conversation.

Why would they impeach Trump. He’s giving them the authoritarian they have longed for. The GOP has no problem selling out the constitution in an attempt strengthen their grip on power.

Law firms aren't handling these cases because of what Trump is doing, they're handling these cases because of "how".

The basic issue is that Congress spends money, not the Executive branch. The Executive branch is supposed to spend the money the way Congess says. Power of the purse, so to speak. The legal issue is if Trump, by choosing to stop spending money that Congress says he's supposed to spend, is violating the Constitution and stepping into an arena that Congress manages.

It's a basic issue in the separation of powers.

Some of the spending that Congress does allows the President to spend it at the President's discretion, in those cases Trump is fine. But if it's not discretionary spending then he can't. That difference has to be made clear - what is and isn't within his ability to stop spending without additional Congressional intervention.

Even if a person agrees with the spending cuts, they should understand why there is a Constitutional question in this.

If you guys had 3 representatives in the whole congress that could argue the way you did maybe most americans would give a damn when the democrats point at something they feel wrong.

Honestly mate, this is the basic stuff you learn about the Constitution in freshman year in high-school.

We shouldn't have to be spoon feeding you the basics.

Tell that to the Dem representatives in congress.
