It was good, not great.

Styles makes fights and I’m assuming these two go five rounds 10/10 times. Dricus probably takes the decision in 8 of those imo.

I didn't think anyone called the fight terrible action wise, I thought it was just criticism of what a waste of a title shot it ended up. The guy didn't deserve it, only argued that he should get it based on him making the first fight close, then put in an absolute travesty of an effort made everyone realize how skippable this whole thing was conceptually

Pretty boring one sided fight, only good moment from Strickland was him breaking his nose and fixing it during the fight. I believe Strickland had a staph infection so I kinda give him a pass on his poor performance.

It was a good fight, it's just one of those technical and close fights were one guy is getting shut down but he's tough enough that he won't get finished. So you can tell by round 3 that it's going to decision. Even the crowd was booing Sean's low output. If Dricus didn't break his nose it would've been a disappointment.

boring boring boring strickland his mouth is more exciting than his fighting style.

It looked like a one sided hard sparring match to me if I’m being honest.

DDP did everything right and fought a perfect game not letting Strickland establish his jab or teep.

Kind of a letdown honestly, Oz deserves better cards with how much we pay for events down here.

I mean we’ve had some really good cards here but the last two were meh.

Given that it was for the MW title, it was very bad. But the UFC did it in all weight classes recently with either boring fights or one-sided fights
If it was in the middle of a PPV card or a FN co-main, no one would notice that it was uneventful

First three rounds were really boring.

Last two were entertaining in a freak show way, watching Strickland bleeding profusely and trying his hardest to not get hit in the face again.

Makes me wonder it there was truth behind the illness rumors with Strickland. He just coasted and tried to not get finished.

It was an awful fight. Sean didn't show up that night.
His output was much better in the first fight.

It was smartly fought by Du Plessis, and there's some bit of value there, but smartly fought against a guy who does nothing but throw straight shots isn't fun to watch for long. It was like a bad Saturday Night Live skit, where everything interesting happens in the first minute and then just runs on repeat until you fall asleep watching. There's only so many times you can watch DDP throw up a double-arm tight guard right in front of the middle of his face because it's a perfect jab defense without wanting to tear off Strickland's arms for not throwing a punch with some arc in it.

It was kinda boring the first 3 rounds but I had to wake early that day so I didn't watch the last 2 rounds but it seems they were the same.

After Strickland hyped it like he was willing to die in the cage, then played it safe and didn't really do anything, I guess it could be perceived as a letdown. Was really just a standard fight for Strickland, while DDP was super active and gave his best. Strickland is just very durable. The most action Sean has had against DDP was when they brawled in the crowd.

In a "good fight" we want to see both fighters effectively implementing offense in a back and forth affair where they make adjustments and we aren't sure who is going to win.

Not a one-sided affair where one guy does nothing but throw a few jabs and the other guy spams a lot of random techniques wildly that rarely connect.

Breaking Strickland's nose is all well and cool, but the first fight was "mid" and this fight was truly bad.

I couldn't agree less, It was an impressive performance by Dricus, There was action, things happened. It was one sided; yes, but it wasn't a starring contest or anything like Lewis vs ngannou or something to that effect.

The fight had action and it was non stop. I think that as fans we're pretty spoiled to that this fight was "truly bad"
