What if someone doesn’t have a mental illness but has just has a bad day and wants to go into a school and kill children?
That’s on them! They could do that with anything though so there’s no stopping that kind of person until we have Minority Report action going on!

Until you ban guns nothing will change.

From a selfish point of view I’d love it if all firearms were legal over there. Would be funny as fuck seeing everywhere turning into a war zone

You could ban guns all day but that wouldn’t stop someone from hurting/killing people if they decide to because they’ll just use another means like running people over with a car, using a knife, or chainsaw!

Or one of those really long floppy dildos

Canadas laws should be slightly loosened but they're ok. At least until Cuckdeau pushes more of his agenda.

America needs to come up with as system with a different set of rules in large cities than in rural areas.

Hey where your brother?!

1. De-criminalize personal ownership of automatic weapons; drastically reduce punishments for felon-in-possession, declare felon-in-possession laws for nonviolent crimes to be unconstitutional

2. Ban manufacture of automatic weapons for all personal and military use; ban manufacture of semi-automatic long guns for personal use

3. Escalate criminal and civil penalties for leaking and/or trafficking of banned weapons into civilian markets, domestic or international.
Are you trying to kick your own ass?

For most of my life I have been strictly pro gun. The older I get the more I realize just how stupid most people are, and I see social and psychological problems rising as we adapt to all this new technology..I'm much more open now, more than ever, to listening to arguments on gun control/restriction. It was so much simpler a couple hundred years ago, with a vastly smaller population, minimal technolgy, and an actual need for firearms. One thing I will say though, is that I will never trust any government enough to be ok with disarming the entire population.

1 and 2 are the same. You can own a fully automatic weapon in the US.

I think it is hilarious that we act like fully automatic weapons are banned. I know a guy who owns a tank.
May be, but is the tank full auto?

I feel like we're missing an option.
can I be Pro guns with more regulation on the people acquiring the gun?
I don't want to restrict the weapons themselves.

Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives should be a a shopping list for your weekend not a federal agency.

pro gun... restrict weapons more than current law

We already do. Most cities have local laws that restrict firearm ownership or enforce state law in a manner that restricts ownership further. In CA you can get a concealed weapons permit and unless you are super rich or well connected you will not be issued one if you live in a major metro-area.

Its hard because America cannot seem to have an honest balanced connversation on the subject because 2nd amendment people refuse to make any concession (in general) as they believe that people simply want to take their guns and any concession is a slippery slope to disarmament.
This isn't one way though, i can see why they may think that.

I can see why someone living in the sticks where there are no police having a gun but they have no place being carried in towns and cities.

America is just too big to apply a sweeping statement one way or another i suppose
You can't blame the lack of an "honest balanced conversation" solely on proponents of the 2A, especially because concessions are expected, no, demanded. If you want to have an honest, balanced conversation or actual compromise, then bring a horse to trade. You can't keep chipping away at an enumerated right and expect no justifiable resistance.

So tell me, what are you willing to exchange for (insert proposed knee jerk policy of the month here)?

The first. There was not one murder with a legally owned machine gun for most of a century that citizens could own them. They were banned in 1986 before any of the real epidemics began due to other issues.

All the major school shootings came after the Brady Bill. If one looked honestly at the history of gun control, then more one would have to think that more gun legislation leads to more gun crime. Since when there was very little regulation, we didn't have the epidemic. It's only after one big gun bill after another that the problems began. The cities and states with the most restrictive gun laws have the most gun crime.

Of course, it's not that simple. Gang violence in the major cities makes up a large number of gun deaths. Nearly all involve the use of illegal guns. The breakdown of the family and huge change in the role of women in the US in particular and the West in general is the most dramatic change in our society from when we had little gun regulation and no school shootings and no mass shooting epidemic to now. Women are no longer guardians of the home and concerned with raising future generations.

I don’t think there should be any gun control

Voted to legalize automatic weapons but in truth I think that should only apply to pistol caliber weapons, not rifle caliber.

I'm interested in the argument. Could you flesh that out?
