How about no?

Tons of people own them. My deer rifle is a 308 VEPR (Russian RPK) I’ve got a few Saiga as well, because Izzy manufactured AKs are worth money, and only going up in value.

Interesting, are you part of the Michigan militia???

Ben!

I voted to ban all guns.

If you wanna stop murders, you gotta stop guns.

If your only tool is a gun, every problem looks like death, I always say.

Just because you make guns illegal for law-abiding citizens, doesn't mean criminals can't get them. They don't follow the law and therefore if you ban guns, the only people with guns will be the criminals. On top of that IIRC there were more kills with blunt weapons than there were with rifles in the US last year.

For me just the 12. But I'm not an AK dude.

I know I’ve said it here before but most people here in AK have a 22, 12g, hi ting rifle (243, 270, 30-06, 300wm) and a 44 mag handgun....

Of course there’s the people whis garage could arm a 250 man Mikita to the teeth, lots of those guys in AK too.....I may or may not be one of them.

I dont think any choice is fair.

We shouldn't restrict or ban any firearm in particular. We should restrict who has access to them based on mental health history.

That statement is repeated often and is easier said than done.

1- does that mean mentally ill people are not afforded the 2nd amendment rights (not to mention a huge part of healthcare is how far you infringe on someone's human rights when treating them)
2- how 'mentally ill' are we talking?
3- how would that be proven?
4-if people overcome it with or without medication who decides when/if theyre allowed weapons again

I voted more restrictions, fuckin insane what that guy had in his hotel room the night he went on that rampage in Vegas. That shit was like he was going to war man, unbelievable.

Oh and what's the deal with that Nichols Cruz kid (Parkland shooter) legally owning guns when he was clearly a fuckin psycho that killed animals and took pictures of them for his Instagram lol. He should not have owned all these weapons. Yeah restrict people, make these kind of weapons harder to get.

If one can't be trusted to know when to defend themselves then they probably can't be trusted to make good decisions when it comes to choosing our political representation. #commonsense

So you've disregarded pretty much every point i have made without a specific answer to legitimate problems? Whether you agree or not- those are simple questions that will be asked regarding gun laws and the mentally ill.

There is a big gray area between a diagnosis of a vague 'depression' disorder and someone who thinks that a tree is talking to them for example.

I think banning all guns not used for hunting etc. would be the best option were it not for the fact there are millions already in circulation that will never be recovered. At this point banning would simply be unworkable and would create a dreamworld for criminals.

A Saiga isn’t a hunting rifle unless you are in Russia, does anybody actually own those in America???

Alright, so apparently the idea you can file the firing pin to slam fire is a urban myth, but I have seen a AK-47 do this, so I am a bit confused.

Your terminology is fucked up, if you want to have a real conversation get your act together. You aren’t entirely worms but you need to work on definitions if you want to be taken seriously...

Seemed more to me like I considered and responded.

Should someone too dumb to be trusted to engage in self-defense be allowed to vote? One's pretty instinctual and the other requires more careful consideration.

This is what makes the situation almost impossible to solve effectively. I vehemently disagree with the gun laws in effect now for the fact they were knee-jerk reactions and simply do not work. In other countries that option has been successful, but what works for one culture will not necessarily work in another.

To be honest 38000 people were killed last year in car accidents, they should put the money into solving that problem rather than the gun issues. So I guess my stance regarding guns is to 'do nothing' and lessen deaths by other causes lol.

Ok, this 'pink shit' is what needs to be banned -- it hurts the eye just by looking at it. The U.S. Army is planning to adopt for female soldiers and gay community:

I think Sweden makes an interesting case study regarding gun laws. We have among the most deaths in the EU linked to gun violence:

skjutningar_forskning.jpg

The weapons used in these shootings are illegal and smuggled to Sweden from other countries.

At the same time, to become a legal gun owner in Sweden is a tedious ordeal and takes time, dedication, money and even so, the governing bodies take their time to issue a license.

A study between 2000-2010 showed that only two violent crimes were committed by legally obtained weapons in Sweden. Self-defense with legally owned weapons in Sweden is a judicial right but it rarely goes well in the court of law.

A major case was when a 69-year old man shot and killed two brothers that had previously threatened his life and they entered his property, smashed the glass on the front door, which prompted the old man to shoot them through the door. He was sentenced to two years for manslaughter. Two years is still lower than what you normally receive for manslaughter but the point is, the government doesn't want to send a message to the citizens that you will go scott-free if you use guns to protect you and your family.

As for my vote here, I'm for more lax gun laws as long as we are talking about law-abiding and mentally healthy individuals.
