Usyk lacked a punch at cruiser weight.

Floyd did do that though. He fought toe to toe with Maidana, when the guys only shot was to land a bomb. He did the same with Cotto when he could have easily outboxed him on the outside.
People are surprised that he let a guy like Witherspoon make a somewhat competitive fight with him, which I think is a reasonable response. We're talking about a guy that some people have in the top 3 P4P. I think its a reasonable question to ask how he's going to dominate HW, as many are predicting, when he could barely dominate a guy who's not even gatekeeper status.
and usyk does it in spots, too. he put his weight into his punches and put bellew to sleep. it's his style, he's light on his feet and he chips away at people until they slow down and then he starts beating them up.

how did he barely dominate witherspoon, though? did you have usyk losing any rounds? i didn't. winning every round and concussing your opponent to the point where his corner stops it in 7 rounds sounds like a pretty good outcome to me. sure, he didn't blitz the guy in 2 rounds, but that's not how usyk fights. he needs 5 rounds to read his opponents and then he fucks them up. i honestly don't see what bothered people about his performance. it looked like every other fight of his.

ali is a very underrated puncher. how many other fighters could "call" the round of the ko.
Ali was in the top 10 all time for knockout rate at one point

He was fast as fuck....idk about 1 shot power but he knew how to make em snowball and accumulate into damage

Usyk is methodical to a fault and had a year out the ring due to injury and was fighting at a new weight. god forbid he take the first couple of rounds slowly.

I was legitimately surprised at how many shots Witherspoon got in and that he never seemed badly hurt in the fight. I think people are sort of ignoring the level of opponent Usyk had in front of him.

I wonder what people would be saying if it were a different HW with the same showing against Witherspoon. What do you think?

Should be expected as he has that flaw in every fight, pretty much.

I didn’t see the fight, but I was under the impression that most thought it was not competitive at all and essentially a shutout. I had this filed under he’s garbage because he didn’t finish him quickly enough.
Meh, a P4Per couldn't get a guy who got walloped twice by B level HWs when he was active 7 years ago out of there. He quit out of exhaustion and looked dead on his feet after 3 rounds. He should have made more of a statement.

I don't get why people have such issue admitting it was a lukewarm HW debut.

would you pick Parker over Usyk?
I'm not real big on Parker. Not sure honestly. I think being a slow starter with no power at HW is going to be a major issue for him against pretty much all top guys.

Nobody is acting otherwise.

It's a week later and you still haven't gotten over this.

You need a hobby.

Says the guy who has quoted me on the topic multiple times since.

You've probably posted a thousand times on this...nobody is even arguing that it wasn't the greatest fight he's had

Get off the man's ballsack. He won the fight.

Onto the next one.

I'm responding to a lot of different people. If you don't like talking about it, its easy to not click on the thread.

The people you respond to aren't even saying it was an incredible performance

I've literally not even seen one comment saying it was above average for Usyk.

If you're arguing the p4p then i actually can see a case. If you're saying he won't be hw champion, i can even reasonably discuss that too.

But what is the fucking argument at this point?

But all I've said is that it was a mediocre showing. Explain why I have 25 notifications on the topic each morning when I get up.

You're either purposefully dense or dumb as shit.

There's not much middle ground available

Which one of us is taking this personally again?

Probably neither to be honest.

But my points stand.
Well, not really. I'll probably still respond to people who want to discuss it with me. Feel free to see the door.

There is no door. It's a virtual forum.

I'll feel free to keep doing what I'm doing.
