I actually kind of like yours betterI just call that going Saiyan. I'm not even a big Dragon Ball Z fan but somehow that stuck to mean abrupt domination approaching level 9,000.

It's funny because Usyk is sort of similar to Lomachenko, another guy that gets accused of not having much power. But he has a decent number of stoppages on his record. Both fighters don't often sit down on their shots but when they do the results speak for themselves. It shows what I broke down. When Usyk actually commits to his punches he can hurt guys. I know what a guard is and how it works but thanks for letting me know that Usyk could've indeed used his other hand, only, it was too busy setting up the one he actually used to KO the guy.
Boxrec has bad rankings....they rate Porter over Spence in pfp last i checked....which was after they foughtI don't know why Usyk is rated on boxrec #4 above Fury. He's not even a proven commodity at HW. Witherspoon didn't look great and has been fighting club fighters at best. He's gonna get lit up once he fights a real and legit top 6 guy.
loma does occasionally counter when he is comfortable, and his opponents aren't great punchers. against people throwing heat he gets out of dodge.I already shot you down on this Loma can't counterpunch shit. I showed you clip after clip of Loma countering the shit out of Gary Russell and you even admitted that you were wrong. But I guess that slipped you mind......
ali is a very underrated puncher. how many other fighters could "call" the round of the ko.Muhammad Ali wasn't a big puncher. Neither is Tyson Fury.
A big part of boxing is what the fighter does around the punching.
i'm guessing for the same reasons floyd never really planted his feet and swung on people at the later stages of his career. he just developed that sort of style. Why does he choose not to? Seems sort of weird.
Floyd did do that though. He fought toe to toe with Maidana, when the guys only shot was to land a bomb. He did the same with Cotto when he could have easily outboxed him on the outside.i'm guessing for the same reasons floyd never really planted his feet and swung on people at the later stages of his career. he just developed that sort of style.
i think it's hilarious that people would complain about usyk's power when he finishes more than 3/4 of his fights. his KO percentage is exactly the same as luis ortiz's. i don't see anyone bitching about the cuban's lack of power.
i guess anyone who isn't deontay wilder can't punch for shit.
I'd agree with that if we weren't talking about such a soft opponent as Witherspoon vs a guy touted as one of the best fighters on the planet.Anytime a fighter doesnt finish their opponent within 2 rounds while not taking a single punch in return they are exposed, overrated, or were never that good to begin with. More of the same should god forbid someone doesnt maintain a perfect undefeated record for their careers
Thats what this forum has been reduced to.
I didn’t see the fight, but I was under the impression that most thought it was not competitive at all and essentially a shutout. I had this filed under he’s garbage because he didn’t finish him quickly enough.Floyd did do that though. He fought toe to toe with Maidana, when the guys only shot was to land a bomb. He did the same with Cotto when he could have easily outboxed him on the outside.
People are surprised that he let a guy like Witherspoon make a somewhat competitive fight with him, which I think is a reasonable response. We're talking about a guy that some people have in the top 3 P4P. I think its a reasonable question to ask how he's going to dominate HW, as many are predicting, when he could barely dominate a guy who's not even gatekeeper status.
I think most people see usyk as the best cruiserweight on the planet amd an exciting prospect at heavyweight.I'd agree with that if we weren't talking about such a soft opponent as Witherspoon vs a guy touted as one of the best fighters on the planet.
and the lineal HW champion of the world went the distance with and was almost stopped by a guy almost nobody heard of.I'd agree with that if we weren't talking about such a soft opponent as Witherspoon vs a guy touted as one of the best fighters on the planet.
It doesn't really matter does it? He's not a defensive fighter who goes long periods into a defensive shell, he has one of the most active offences in all of pro boxing. Loma has amazing defensive stats but it's even more amazing when you consider his offensive output is so high.loma does occasionally counter when he is comfortable, and his opponents aren't great punchers. against people throwing heat he gets out of dodge.
He was good for CW. Good boxer.Thats what this forum has been reduced to.
For a white belt you're pretty astute. It obviously didn't take long for you to notice the trend.Usyk isn't perfect like any other fighter. I just think there are a few posters on here that have a bias against non-american fighters. I used to think it was a race thing but i think it is more of a nationality thing. They just seem to eager to look for flaws or any way they can diminsh certain fighters. The excuse they use is the fighters they don't like is being overhyped.
There aren't only americans.I just think there are a few posters on here that have a bias against non-american fighters.
Usyk already fought big guys and he did fine. He fought Joe Joyce who is 6'5"+ and weighs in at 265lb admittedly when he was slimmer (but he's not exactly fat now) in the WBS. He's method is to outmanoeuvre them and score points whilst not getting hit.How he will deal with 260 lbs boxer? A large boxer.
