Usyk lacked a punch at cruiser weight.

There is no door. It's a virtual forum.

I'll feel free to keep doing what I'm doing.
I was speaking figuratively. You know, there's really no need to get so riled about a boxer. Its sort of odd, honestly.

That's a played out tactic. The ol turnaround.

That Joe Joyce quickness in your wit is pretty good though

ITs not a turnaround. Other people have heard me point this out about a few other people before too. I'm not the one who stops talking about boxing and starts name calling. I'm not the one who makes the conversation one about the poster to avoid admitting they are wrong about something. Now THAT is a played out tactic. Now, I'm done talking about me here. Lets see if you can manage to do the same. This is a thread about Usyk. I will talk about Usyk. If you don't like it, stop quoting me. Stop entering a thread about Usyk and acting surprised that we're discussing Usyk.

I guess we got our answer to who was taking it personally.

We did, when you started name calling and talking about me.
What names did i call you?

"Talking about me" .....yeah talking about you to you lol.

You need to get off Usyks ballsack and stop getting offended like a snowflake

I was legitimately surprised at how many shots Witherspoon got in and that he never seemed badly hurt in the fight. I think people are sort of ignoring the level of opponent Usyk had in front of him.

I wonder what people would be saying if it were a different HW with the same showing against Witherspoon. What do you think?
i've been saying all along his performance answered no questions about his HW stint, because witherspoon has no qualities to challenge usyk with.

but usyk won all 7 rounds and finished the fight. he was never hurt, he was never in danger. he controlled the fight bell to bell and put a beating on his opponent. if people expected him to blitz witherspoon, that's their problem. i don't think usyk's ever walked anyone down and knocked them out early in a fight. that's not how he fights, and everyone criticising him for it now makes no sense whatsoever.

That is based on him beating all the top guys in the cruiserweight division in a row in their own country. I think that is enough to get number 5 on the p4p list.
I misread your post as you disagreeing about his P4P status. I was just showing you he was. I guessed he was slightly higher than he is, I guess.

I agree. Witherspoon should have been a walk for him but he had to put in work to make the guy quit and that seemed to be more from exhaustion than being beat down.

Agreed. He won all 7 rounds. He just didn't look that great doing so.

And I agree thats how Usyk fights, thats exactly why a few of us here have been saying HW is going to be a rough go for him.

I'd agree with that if we weren't talking about such a soft opponent as Witherspoon vs a guy touted as one of the best fighters on the planet.
Except for the fight wasnt close and the guy got stopped.

We knew who the loudest critic would be here before the fight even started. Theres literally nothing to base Usyk’s HW career off of from this fight. He destroyed someone he was supposed to destroy.

Floyd did do that though. He fought toe to toe with Maidana, when the guys only shot was to land a bomb. He did the same with Cotto when he could have easily outboxed him on the outside.
People are surprised that he let a guy like Witherspoon make a somewhat competitive fight with him, which I think is a reasonable response. We're talking about a guy that some people have in the top 3 P4P. I think its a reasonable question to ask how he's going to dominate HW, as many are predicting, when he could barely dominate a guy who's not even gatekeeper status.
guys like moorer and holyfield were good punchers at cruiser and they didn't really carry their power to heavyweight, usyk wasn't a great puncher at cruiserweight, it's not surprising he doesn't carry much punch at heavyweight.

you have a interesting interpretation of "destroyed".

Fight wasnt close. Didnt lose a round. Took 20 punches total lol. Landed 40% of his. Probably could have gotten the stoppage earlier and had the ref looking at it. Got him out relatively early anyway.

Did everything he needed to. Just as he should have and was expected to. Didnt tell us anything about where Usyk stands at HW.

Edit: Just caught who I responded to, again. Fuck off troll.

chill, killer. i would consider foreman to have "destroyed" frazier, usyk just boxed witherspoon up a bit. i just find it a bit amusing how much our opinions of boxing vary.

"Destroyed" is a stretch.
Tell the truth now, when you were watching that fight, you didn't find yourself a little let down?

Let down by the quality of opponent. Usyk did exactly what anyone whose watched him would expect him to do.

It seems like people were expecting Usyk to be Wilder in there or something.

better question would be, what did you actually like about him in the first place?

he didn't get hit, he hit his opponent almost at will, and he finished him. it was a walk for him... and witherspoon looked concussed to me in that corner. he actually took a bunch of clean shots in that last round, usyk was beating him up.

Agreed. He won all 7 rounds. He just didn't look that great doing so.

but it's not like he's losing the early rounds before he gets going. he's still doing enough to win them, he's just chipping away carefully. in the second half of the fight he has the timing down and then he clowns people. that style could be a problem against someone like wilder, but that isn't really saying much.

i'd love to see him vs ortiz or parker, to be honest.
