PBP UFC 312 - Du Plessis vs. Strickland 2 Official Main Card PBP Discussion: Sat 2/8 at 10pm ET

Lmao badass!

I started watching MMA around 2007 or so, right as the Lesnar boom happened and man, a card was like $50-60 or so and you’d be glued to the screen. There’s too many cards now they’re watered down, it became like boxing.

I think the sweet spot for MMA was around that time. One free card per month on Spike, WEC once per month or two on Versus, and then a PPV every month. Affliction, EliteXC, Strikeforce, and Sengouku filled in the gaps with some stars that didn't see eye to eye with Zuffa/UFC. Seemed like plenty of fights but way more stacked from top to bottom. Fighters didn't have to wear stupid fight kits and there was a lot more personality and individuality in the sport.

Crute's 2nd draw in last 3 fights. He's probably thinking about retirement again.

Ok so we got tall Teixeira vs diet hunt tafa next

I got tall boy

Jimmy is as smart as he looks
Haha oh God. MMA is so weird.
One guy dominates a round so much and the other person edges it and they call it a draw lol.

Crute should have gotten the nod there. He was landing the bigger, more damaging shots for most of the fight.

Oh well good enough fight but should have been on the prelims.

This feels like a whoever gets hit first goes to sleep type of fight

Looked like Bellato was pulling that move the scumbag promoter (Brian Dennehy) from Gladiator (the REAL Gladiator, not the one directed by Tony Scott) pulled on Cuba Gooding Jr, where he headbutted Cuba's punches to break his hands
Top of the head. Hardest part of the body!

That sounds well researched and passed the ai fact check.
It checks out in his post Fight exegesis
