International Tucker Carlson in Russia to interview Vladimir Putin UPDATE - Also Dugin

Tucker is a Kremlin asset now???? Don't fall for this bullshit dude. The "tucker is a kremlin asset" line is worthy of being added to my list.

6. Trump pee tape
7. Covid lab leak was a conspiracy theory
8. Border agents whipped migrants.
9. Trump saved nuclear secrets at Mar-a-Lago
10. Steele Dossier
11. Russian bounties on US soldiers in Afghanistan
12.Trump said drinking bleach would fight covid
13. Hunter Biden's laptop was Russian disinformation

If Tucker presses him I will 100% walk that back. I am not above admitting when I am wrong.

He won't though. It will be a congratulatory, anti-west type of interview like he did with Orban.

You should welcome the interview and trust the american public to make up their own mind. Because if they're easily swayed by Putin, they are easily swayed by propaganda anyway. and if they're like that, what exactly are you protecting by keeping people away from this interview?

Please explain how I am keeping people away from the interview? I never told anyone to not watch it.

1. Okay. So you won't be watching the interview, got it. Vlad interviewing with the most popular journalist in America is still newsworthy and interesting to a lot of people who don't "care to pay attention" to a foreign nation who is halfway across the world from us and is in a war with their neighbor that has nothing to do with our daily lives except that our government is spending dozens of or hundreds of billions of dollars in aiding the war against Russia.

2. What statements of Tucker are Russia supportive? Specifically. Also, what world leaders have submitted themselves to foreign journalists for a "raking over the coals" interview? I don't even understand what you're insinuating. You want Tucker to sit down with Putin and then throw a glass of water in his face?

4. "I have no problem with Putin getting interviewed with a Western journalist, as long as I approve of the journalists credentials and worldview." Okay Vergilius Putin, which journalists do you approve of to get the sodium worthy message out there that you want everyone to get spoon fed?

Like I said, you're a walking contradiction. Feign tolerance all you want, every single sentence you write flies in the face of "Not having a problem." You literally have a problem with every portion of this. The only concession you make is that you'd approve of it if you could choose which mouthpiece is used... which is exactly what you critique Putin of doing a few sentences before.

To start where you end, and please pay careful attention this time: I do not have a problem with Putin conducting an interview with a western journalist in general to explain his views. However, I DO have a problem with a Western journalist allowing Putin to deliver straight propaganda unchallenged. Thus I have a problem with this particular journalist being the one to go. Don't think I can explain it any clearer than that.

Regarding your 2, I submit "Why shouldn't I support Russia?" which is what Tucker Carlson said live on air. Coupled with his many years of praise for Putin, it's not hard to see why the Kremlin have handpicked him for this job.

Regarding your heavily strawman'ized 4, I don't need a journalist to agree with my view of the world - but I DO need them to ask critical questions. Like: "how can you claim that Ukraine is a Nazi state when it is lead by a Jew and holds regular elections?" or "tens of thousands of slavic people have died in this war. You're the individual most responsible for the destruction it has caused. If you could go back in time to January 2022, would you change the decision you made then?"

I don't think Putin would give a straight answer to either question, but I'd at least be interested to hear what he had to say.

What outlets are out there claiming they did?
Tucker made a claim that haven’t been trying and Russia said that’s not true and they have.
Weird that you are making this something that other news outlets need to prove when they haven’t even involved themselves in whatever is going on between tucker and Russia.
Yeah...I'm kinda big on news organizations providing proof for their claims.

sounds like you don't need to watch the interview.

I'm absolutely going to watch it, obviously. I think the best we're going to get is the exact message Putin wants to send, but even that is valuable.

Was America ever pro Putin before Trump? I get not wanting to spend money on someone else's war but this feels worse than that.

Honestly, I haven't seen any other news outlets show proof that they tried to interview Putin, all I've seen is a lot of "trust me bro, we asked".

How about Russia saying others keep asking, and the others who have told you they keep asking?

Just how much proof do you need?

Would you trust Kremlin and interfax?

Even Kremlin confirms what the journalist says

"The president’s spokeswoman was also asked to comment on Carlson’s words that not a single Western journalist has bothered to interview Putin recently and asked if it was true, that the Kremlin has not received a single request for a meeting with the Russian leader from the Western media over the past two years.

"No, Mr. Carlson is wrong. Actually, he cannot know this. We receive many applications for interviews with the president, but mainly when it comes to the countries of the collective West, we are talking about large network media: traditional television channels, large newspapers, who can’t boast of attempts to at least look impartial in terms of highlighting what is happening, "said Peskov.

So you trust that out of hand?

Yeah...I'm kinda big on news organizations providing proof for their claims.
When did news agencies claim it?
Maybe you should be asking tucker to back up his claims or Russia to back up their counter claims.

So you trust that out of hand?

Interfax is a Russian news site based in Moscow Russia and pro Putin.

Peskov is the spokesperson for the Kremlin.

Peskow claims western news wanted to interview Putin but they have been turned down..
I think we can believe this since it correspond with what western news also says. They have tried to interview Putin but got turned down.

So both the west and Kremlin says the same thing here.

It was already proven he was handpicked - they have turned down other interview requests. Peskov literally said they purposefully picked Tucker over anyone else who has requested. He is a friend of the Kremlin, and his work is widely circulated throughout Russian state-run media.
I thought we can't believe anything that Russians say, but you're certainly willing to take Peskov's word for it when he says something you like. I'm sure others have, but I'm also not the one claiming "everything they say is a lie".

"Handpicked" is what literally every world leader does for interviews. Christ, Biden has to "handpick" individual questions from a card with the person's name, picture and what they're going to ask before calling on them, and that is from an extremely pro Biden media so they don't even accidentally ask him something difficult. They plant fake questions in town halls ffs.

He already said one of the conditions was that the interview be released in full, unedited, and there is 0 reason to trust any of our MSM with that request when they regularly cut out parts that don't fit what they want, will match up different answers with different questions to change context.

It's not exactly a burn on Tucker for someone to say he's the only one on the list of requests that they can actually trust to air an interview without fucking with it. It's not like he can sue NBC for splicing up an interview to say whatever they want it to.
