Tsarukyan, what a performance

The glove grab + knee combo and headbutts were very impressive. Even better than Garry's eye pokes in the co-main. Just get rid of the refs ffs.

Yes thank you for this. I’m about to rewatch but pretty sure I saw a glove grab before some fight changing shots landed. Glad I’m not the only one who saw it.

that GnP was pretty fearsome, gotta admit. for a little guy he generates a ton of power.

Also, I must admit he is a rather handsome man: perfect hairline with beautiful black silky and thick hair, the body of a Greek statue and athletically very gifted.

I get the impression that Arman is rather open minded and wants to learn. I was a bit surprised to see him get close to the neckbeards(as he is a proud Armenian christian, some even mistake him for being muslim like that genius Helwani did but he took no offense), but when you hear him talk about it it makes sense. They have a very effective style and while Arman's striking started getting better and better, at some point he decided to stick to his roots and we see how dominant his wrestling/subs are now.

Ilia chose to go the other way and as a result his striking has become arguably top 3 or even #1 in the whole sport. It will be very interesting to see how far he has gone away from his grappling and if 1 fight camp is enough to offset the likes of Arman.

He's very odd. Always laughing at things normal people wouldn't laugh at..not sure if just insecure or odd.
Probably a little of both, but as a fellow Kiwi, I can tell you that he doesn't take himself and anything very seriously - hence most of the laughter, he's taking the piss mate, and laughing at his own jokes and experiences he shares.

That's fair enough. I think it's because I haven't seen too much of him other than fighting/post fight speeches and in non fighting situations he's just always laughing...but I suppose that could just be the cynical uptight Brit in me

When I saw the size difference in the ring I thought Hooker would disrespect him and overpower him.

Arman surprised me: the much smaller man, he managed to out strike Hooker and then smother him with his superior wrestling. The submission was beautiful.

Also, I must admit he is a rather handsome man: perfect hairline with beautiful black silky and thick hair, the body of a Greek statue and athletically very gifted.

Btw Hooker is so big he should be fighting at WW.
So you like men, it's cool whatever you do just wash your hands.

Whatever his faults regarding the disaster of the Islam pull out, long periods of inactivity or a lack of memorable wins over marquee opponents (29-28 SD vs. Do Bronx, but has dropped a dec. to Gamrot)

He's obviously a cut above the rest of the top 10 at 155, and likely would still be a handful for Islam if he hadn't gone to 170.

He's earned a 2nd crack at gold. It's imperative that he not lose momentum or end up waiting around for 11 months
If they can't get Ilia to commit to a title defense, what exactly is Arman supposed to do?

The Georgian isn't getting Islam, I think that ship has sailed. Buuuut, beating Arman would put that proposition right back on top of the shortlist of
"Biggest fights they could make"

Godspeed, and good luck

That was actually the performance I was expecting outta Islam.

Down to see any combination of fights involving Illa, Islam Arman.

What is it with Sherdog equating height with size?

Arman is a jacked little manlet and I don't doubt for a second he weighed just as much as Hooker maybe even more. Believe it or not Volkanovski outweighed a lot of his opponents at FW too.

Sherdoggers sees a guy being taller and damn near fall off their chairs. Every single time. Never ever learn.

And figuring out forced perspective? Forget about it

Disagree agree that Hooker was a lot bigger, main difference was about four inches of height. Arman is short but a very muscled and stocky lightweight.

His wrestling is supreme. People talk about Topuria's wrestling but they are dreaming if they think he can go move for move with Arman on the ground, Arman would have his way with him. His biggest weakness in any potential fight is that he can get a bit reckless like against Joaquin Silva and he can't afford that against the best puncher in the division, but first he has to hope that the UFC can convince Topuria to actually get in the Octagon with him.
