Problem is even if he isn’t going to go through with anything, there are still going to be consequences. Like with the tariffs. I could convert to Judaism and I have the “right to return” in the West Bank. Some random Palestinian that moved out there doesn’t have that same option because they didn’t convert.

Nonetheless, you have a very opaque view of history. The PLO has accepted the ‘67 borders since the 70s and Netanyahu has explicitly bragged about never accepting a 2 state solution. Additionally, Israel has been expanding their settlements in the West Bank since Eshkol too which prevents a true two state solution…

Overall, this issue is way more nuanced than you are prescribing it to be about Jews vs. Muslims. George Habash was the leader of the PFLP for several years and he was a devout Christian…

but he’s right in some ways. Israel is the lone Jewish state in the world. Palestinians are Sunni Muslim’s surrounded by Sunni Muslim (and other Arab / Muslim) nations. I posted the survey earlier. 32% of pals support a 2 state solution. The majority support armed resistance as a policy. The pro-Palestinian contingent insisting on a 2 state solution and only 32% of palestinians want one. Too many of them still think the goal is to eliminate Israel and “win”.

I feel there’s an overemphasis on whether the Palestinian refugees get their own nation and an underemphasis on whether there’s a realistic peaceful solution that maintains Israel’s right to exist and offers the potential for a prosperous future for the Palestinian refugees to no longer be refugees, even if their citizenship is not “Palestine”.

If there was a reasonable chance at a peaceful 2 state solution I’d be all for it. And believe me, I know blame falls on both sides.

Trump’s “musings” are nonsense, and of course, it’s always hard to know what he’s really thinking or wanting. How much of it is a starting point for negotiation vs a real plan. Which of course is part of his…..I can’t call it genius…..but allure. Which ever way he ends up was the way he intended all along.

I never justified ethnic cleansing. I have been the 1 person advocating for Egypt annexing Gaza and making pals citizens. Never once suggested Israelis have any physical footprint in Gaza.
